The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign that runs annually from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (World Human Rights Day). These 16 days are an opportunity to reflect on what each of us can do in our communities and our lives to eliminate gender-based violence, including violence disproportionately faced by women, girls, and LGBTQ individuals. #16days #16daysofactivism #16daysofactivismagainstgenderbasedviolence #mission #missionbc #presbyterian #eliminationofviolenceagainstwomen #worldhumanrightsday #humanrights #humanrightsday

Where will you let your light shine? How will you let your light shine? For whom will you let your light shine? Lets use our actions this week to point to our Father in heaven.... "No one after lighting a lamp puts it under a bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." -Matthew 5:15-16

September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day. Reach out to the ones you love, especially now during all this stress. Take care of your own mental health so that you can help others with theirs. Share this post as far as you can. Message us for help, prayer, or someone to talk to. Overwhelmed? Relax your shoulders. Adjust your schedule. Go for a walk. Take three deep breaths. Ask for help. List three priorities. Reconnect to why. Take a break. You are worthy of love and belong...ing without having to earn them. The Creator of the world knows your worth, and loves you just as you are. "All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies. Go away, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer." Psalm 6:6-9 "We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone." When Enelesi Daniels house collapsed because of Cyclone Idai, she and her four children were forced to seek shelter outside a school for three months. They los...t their entire harvest for the year, along with ducks and chickens. At the camp, Enelesi heard about a Presbyterian World Service & Development food assistance project. Through the project, Enelesis family received maize, beans and oil, allowing the family to eat twice a day, enabling the children to go to school and Enelesi to work her fields.
