TONIGHT! CDSBEO Parents/Guardians - Join us for a YouTube livestream event presented by the CDSBEO Parent Involvement Committee with Dr. Jean Clinton. This 45 minute presentation will provide parents with important tools for parenting during a pandemic, including tips on social-emotional learning, building resilient children, fostering relationships and communities in a virtual world, coping with schooling during a pandemic, as well as tips for exhausted parents. Dr. Jean Cli...nton is a Clinical Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster, division of Child Psychiatry. She is on staff at McMaster Children’s Hospital with cross appointments in Pediatrics and Family Medicine, and an Associate in the Department of Child Psychiatry, University of Toronto and Sick Children’s Hospital. She has been a consultant to children and youth mental health programs, child welfare, and primary care for over 30 years. Renowned nationally and internationally as an advocate for children’s issues, we look forward to offering parents this invaluable support during these challenging times. Our Junior & Senior Kindergarten classes celebrated Shrove Tuesday this morning ( because yesterday was a snow day) with yummy delicious pancakes, real Canadian maple syrup and fresh fruits!! It was DELICIOUS .

We would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to Issac in Junior Kindergarten and his grandmother, Pam Poirier for a very generous Tupperware donation. Mrs. Poirier managed to fundraise enough money to purchase a water bottle, snack and lunch container for each of our junior and senior kindergarten students along with water bottles for some of the older students at St. Peter. Thank you Parents, We please ask that you label each of the Tupperware containers with your child’s nam...e as everybody in the classroom has the same set and we want to make sure that nothing gets misplaced or mixed up. Thank you for your cooperation! Thank you again to Issac and Mrs. Poirier for your generosity!

C"D"SBEO Week continues. D is for Drawing God. Mrs. Adam’s class did a wonderful art and reflection activity.

CDSBEO elementary families (Kindergarten to Grade 8) have been sent an email with information regarding the completion date for the elementary progress reportin...g term (November 9, 2020), and requesting changes to their child’s method of learning based on this date. Parents who wish to change their child’s method of learning (ie; to move from face-to-face instruction to the CDSBEO Virtual Learning Elementary School, or move from the CDSBEO Virtual Learning Elementary School to face-to-face instruction) effective November 9, must complete the survey before October 19, 2020 (survey link provided in the email). No changes or late responses will be accepted after this deadline. If you did not receive the email, but wish to change your child’s method of learning, please contact your school. Parents who do not wish to make a change do not need to complete the survey.
