The clergy of the Deanery of Temiskaming have prepared recorded services of Morning Prayer for the present Sundays when the Diocese of Algoma is not having services in churches. Services at St Simon's are currently suspended, in order to follow the COVID-19 regulations of the Diocese of Algoma and the Province of Ontario. The earliest that we will meet again in the church will be Sunday 24th January. However, we remain a praying community and are always glad to hear from our neighbours. A new year in the church begins Sunday, November 29, with the first Sunday of Advent. This will be a service of Morning Prayer, led by Mrs Sandy Elliott. St Simon's has been continuing with our Sunday services at 10 am since the beginning of the autumn. We observe all Covid-19 precautions according to the current guidelines of the local Health Unit and the Diocese of Algoma. If you would like to join us, please send our page a message so that we know to expect you. Our church is physically very small, so under current precautions, our capacity is very limited, but our hearts have plenty of room.

The Deanery Morning Prayer service (which doesn't necessarily have to be viewed in the morning!) for August 23 can be viewed at this link. Fr Derek is the preacher; his sermon is called "The Great Escape." The service is led by Archdeacon Joan Locke, and the reader is the former incumbent of St Simon's, The Rev'd Beth Hewson.
