Migrant farmworkers are essential workers and an important component of Canada's food security. We are grateful for their commitment and dedication.

Thanksgiving thoughts. I am thankful for this wonderful Orono Community and for the many people that continue to find ways to help one another in this pandemic.... St. Saviours congregation with the leadership of Reverend Augusto Nunez and his family continue to provide care and support for people throughout this difficult time. Every Tues from 10-12 he has been available to talk to in person at the church. Our family wishes to sincerely thank him for his dedication these past few years, providing care and sharing God's love with everyone including Elsie Jackson, our mother, during her illness and passing. Priceless St. Saviour's Church cares about people. It offers a variety of free programs and supports many charitable endeavours in this community. We may have had to suspend some of these programs but the church is open. Services are offered on line and the church is open for Sunday services 9:30-10:30 Masks and proper social distancing are required. Hope, Faith, Peace & Love are provided. St. Saviour's is the little church with the Big Heart See more

Our ministry is so glad for contributions such as the Clarington municipality that made it possible to get new coats and boots to our Migrant workers working in our community. The men are very thankful for the support, such as this from our community.

Although this pandemic has affected our usual outreach to our agricultural migrant workers, we have found other ways to keep connected. With the help of dear p...artner Churches, community and Salvation Army, we have received overwhelming donations, which we have dropped off through monthly or bi-weekly deliveries. Even though we cannot fellowship together, we have tried to let them know that we are here for them in other ways either via social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and What’s App we have kept the communication lines open. We pray that next year might be better. In addition, I continue to post online services for them in English and Spanish where they can find spiritual support during this difficult and challenging time especially considering that some are not allowed to leave the farms. During our delivery last night, we spoke and we prayed that we will have a better season next year. See more
