This morning St. Stephen's and Pickering Presbytery have submitted our application to the open door program for affordable housing, with the City of Toronto. This will be our final one. We believe that we have outstanding community partners with Chief Stacey Laforme from the Mississauga of the Credit, Reena, an organization that provides supportive housing for individuals with developmental disabilities, East Scarborough Boys & Girls Club, to provide affordable units for y...outh. I am grateful for the team of members from St. Stephen's who have served on the future of the church committee for the past 5 years, as well as those who have gone and to be with Christ. Thank you. I also appreciate the letters of support from City Councillors: Paul Ainslie, Jennifer Gray McKelvie, Mike Layton, James Pasternak, and Gary Crawford, as well as MP John McKay. This round it was also wonderful to work with Nick Brownlee----we made it! Now we sit and wait until the middle of January and trust that God will bless all that we have done, each of the 303 pages of our application. See more

We are excited to share that St. Stephen's will be submitting an application for the Open Doors affordable housing program with the City of Toronto. We have sixty days to get that ready. Over the last few months we have hired several firms to do work on our behalf. We pray that God blesses us as we do this project to provide housing and continue to share the love of Christ with Scarborough.
