I keep receiving emails stating to stay inside, keep us all healthy, etc...physical distancing has become stay at home. If you stay at home avoiding the outside... you’ll have a larger chance of becoming the 2nd wave. Outside is clean air, unless you decide to run or ride on a busy thoroughfare inhaling carbon monoxide deep into your lungs. Your home is full of, well, continue reading... Pet dander composed of tiny, even microscopic, flecks of skin shed by cats, dogs, rodents, birds and other animals with fur or feathers. These bits of skin can cause reactions in people who are specifically allergic to these triggers. Additional allergy triggers or allergens come from sources other than the animal's skin. Proteins found in saliva, urine and feces from cats, dogs and other pets can cause allergic reactions in some people. The Most Common Toxins Found in Homes Today Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) ... Pesticides. ... Mold and Other Fungal Toxins. ... Phthalates and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) ... Dioxins. ... Heavy Metals. ... Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) ... Chloroform. and finally, last but not least, our friends, the Dust mites. Personally I’ve always had my windows open in any home I’ve lived because the air always looks disgusting, especially the winter, and when viewed through a sunbeam

So beautiful this morning 4:30 am 44 km ride not a soul in sight

First of all what a glorious morning, out riding by 4:30 am, and 45 km under my belt 1:48 later. #physicalisolation Back in late February I purchased a Rocky M...ountain Growler. It’s an Ebike. The motor shuts off its assistance at 30kmph, then you’re just cycling. When I ride in the morning I spend the first 40K with no motor on, just me hammering on a 55 lb bike which is heavy, roughly 3 1/2 X heavier than my road bike that I recently sold. I bought it for fun and in case I go through heavy chemo or surgery again, or I can use the ejuice and get out and about when I feel like crap. Today I was just wrapping up my ride and unfortunately had to pass a guy who honestly was going slow, but he sprinted like a maniac when I tried to slowly go by him. He started yelling about my electric bike, it being cheating etc, I explained I wasn’t even trying, just wrapping up my ride, but he was insistent, lol. Anyways, then I hammered on the pedals, motor disengaged and his ass was 1/2 km back of me going uphill, my HR was 174 lol, I didn’t have the heart to tell him I just severely kicked his super light road bike, his younger lighter self despite all of his complaining about it being an Ebike. The point I really want to make is, this bike is the best health based decision I’ve made in a long time, don’t let people tell you that you’re cheating. Electric bikes are safer, you get out and move your body even if there’s a massive headwind, pouring rain, super steep hills, coming off of illness/surgery, or maybe you want to get to work without sweating like a stuck pig If you’re thinking of a bike, go and try one :)) See more

When I’m out running or riding I make a point of smiling and saying good morning to people, while giving the physical distancing X 2. What I’ve noticed is that ...a high percentage of people’s reaction is somewhere between ignoring, fearful and angry, with the exception of 1 woman I see riding in the opposite direction, and we smile and wave at each other, and it feels so good . This is a time to come together, as applauding essential services, we also need to embrace one another. Hearing that liquor sales are up 40% and alcohol is a depressant! Talk about making matters worse. If we replaced alcohol with increasing our smiling by 40% we’d all be much better off and I’ll continue to smile and say good morning See more

So much fun training with Joy Adrian is an inspiring person and a phenomenal personal trainer. Not many people can make 5am workouts enjoyable and something ...to look forward to...but Adrian truly does! He is knowledgeable about strength training, running, cycling, nutrition and so much more. He is always enthusiastic and encouraging, so dedicated to his craft, and clearly passionate about health and well-being. I enjoyed my time working with Adrian tremendously. My career in healthcare is very demanding and at times quite stressful. My regular sessions at the gym were a necessary outlet and gave me the energy and good cheer to get through the tough weeks. He created varied workouts for me, pushed me to try new exercises, and adjusted workouts on the fly when I was injured or tired. I will miss Adrian tremendously when I leave Vancouver and I am grateful for his expertise and his friendship. See more
