The most simple yet efficient way to make your home look professionally decorated? Create groups of interesting pieces rather than grouping identical decor pieces. For example decorate a coffee table, bookshelf, or mantle with three complementary but different items.

The internet has no seasons. Most buyers go online to search for homes so your online photos need to make a strong enough impact to influence them to book a showing. As the temperature drops, buyers are less likely to be casually strolling down the street and popping into open houses. Make the biggest impact online by staging your home to stand out online and in-person. We specialize in cultivating impressive interior experiences. Can You Mix Home Styles? You sure can but keep the 70/30 tip in mind. You can create a lot of character in your room by decorating 70% of it in one style (ie. Contemporary or Traditional) and then adding a spin with 30% of the alternate style. If you plan this strategically and pick your pieces deliberately you can create an extremely interesting and captivating space without it feeling chaotic. This property was very modern, but knowing the demographic we wanted to create a bit more warmth than the typical modern home. To do this we juxtaposed a clean-lined sofa adjacent a modern statement lamp with a full feature wall of clustered images typically reserved for a more cozy farmhouse. The completed look blends well with the architecture of the home but holds plenty of warmth.

Keep accent walls limited. Stick to one per room and only one or two in your entire house. An accent wall should highlight a feature in the room or work as a focal point to design around. Having too many in a room and even in the entire home can distract from its intended purpose.

Can flooring make your home appear bigger? Yes, use the same flooring throughout different rooms in your home. Create a seamless flow from one area to the next through the use of cohesive flooring. This can create the illusion that the room is larger than it is. Hardwood tiles can also elongate the look of a room through the lines they create.
