Anyone missing a "commuter?"

Today I had the pleasure of being interviewed by CBC's Adrienne Pan about bike skills parks in St. Albert! https://www.cbc.ca//15779859-renewed-efforts-to-encourage-

A glimmer of hope for our skills park. Lets continue to push Council to work with us to resurrect this project!! I think I'm OK if we need to push forward sooner rather than later in getting a bike skills park as part of the plans for the Rohit lands, and make that really public and get excited about that, said Heron. That's probably a good compromise and this Lachance Park has given us that kick in the butt to make sure that happens. https://www.stalberttoday.ca//st-albert-not-budging-on-dir

There's been a lot of buzz lately about a petition going around to save a local bike park. I've been out there riding it over the years and have watched it grow and have been truly impressed how the community has taken ownership of it. Many of those same people don't know that a number of years ago attempts were made to get a City-supported Skills Park built here in St. Albert (and is partly the reason SABA was created). The end result in early 2016 was that due to negative ...resident feedback and unsuitable locations being identified the project was shelved to be looked at on a future date: "Bike Skills Park - Council approved that Administration discontinue work on the potential development of a Bike Skills Park until time when suitable land becomes available. Funds have been returned to the Major Recreation Facilities - City Wide Fund." It's exciting to see how the community has changed over the last 4 years and how the demand is now big enough that the City needs a properly designed bike park for all ages and skill-sets to enjoy. Recently Council identified a plot of land that would be set aside for a future recreation facility - wouldn't it be great to see an amazing Skills Park also built and maintained on the same location? I encourage you to talk to your City Councillors about this idea. Lets see this project taken off the shelf and make it happen! The skaters are getting a brand new skatepark and we're still waiting for our first bike park! It's time!

In these strange times we're living in, what outdoor activities are you doing to keep sane until biking season can start in earnest?
