WHO YOU GONNA CALL? St. Albert Dental Centre wants you to be assured that we have always followed standard universal precautions issued by the ADA&C to help protect every one of our patients and team members. After every patient, we are now fogging our treatment rooms with non-toxic Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl), in addition to our disinfection/sterilization procedures. HOCl is effective at killing viruses without leaving behind harmful residues. We are happy that HOCl is very ...safe and non-toxic! We have added HEPA AIR FILTERS in each treatment room that removes particles including odours, gases, mold, allergens, and viruses. The units are capable of removing particles smaller than COVID-19 viruses for everyones safety. Our office also utilizes an ozone air generator overnight to disinfect our entire office. Ozone is a safe and effective way to kill bacteria and viruses. The process is quick and environmentally friendly. We are confident that we are doing all that we can to ensure the safety of our patients and team members. Please visit our website https://www.stalbertdentist.com to learn more about our new office procedures, including screening protocols. GREAT NEWS! On Thursday April 30th, Premier Jason Kenney updated on Alberta relaunch strategy, stating that regulated health professionals can return to safe practice, subject to provincial regulatory colleges. We are all just as excited as you to get back to work and return to doing what we love most. However, we will be following the direction from the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C). The ADA&C is reviewing the best science currently available and is planning... a gradual return to regular care starting on May 14. The ADA&C is focusing on Albertans access to care, protection and safety of the dental team. We will update you when we are ready to start booking again. We are waiting for the recommendations from the ADA&C, and for personal protective equipment (PPE) that has been fitted for our team, which are not available yet. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For some examples: * Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. Youll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. * We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. * You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, childrens toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. * Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that youre offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. Please call our office at 780-459-9162 or visit our website at www.stalbertdentist.com

While our team at St. Albert Dental Centre is currently staying home to stay healthy, our front line workers are making sure that we receive critical health care and essential services. St. Albert Dental Centre is trying to help our front line workers in small ways. When Skills Society: Supporting the Citizenship of People with Disabilities asked for us for some masks for their front line workers during this crisis, we didnt hesitate to donate some of our limited supply. Sk...ills Society is helping some of our most vulnerable community members during this difficult time, by supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities, as well as survivors of acquired brain injury and their families. By donating masks to Skills Society, we can also support the most vulnerable in our area. Were proud to be a part of the communities we serve. April is Oral Health Month! Many of us are becoming overdue for checkups because dental offices are closed. It is more important than ever to practice good oral hygiene to prevent cavities. Here are six simple tips on keeping your mouth healthy: ... 1. Brush your teeth using a fluoridated toothpaste twice a day 2. Floss daily 3. Chew sugar free gum (best with xylitol) 4. Drink plenty of water daily 5. Eat a balanced diet and limit sugary foods 6. Take Vit. D (with Vitamin K2) Even though our office is currently closed, we are still here if you need us. At this time, we are only able to provide emergency treatment, but please contact us if you have any concerns. A member of our team will be regularly checking messages, so you can leave us a message at [email protected] and we will get back to you ASAP.
