Success Tips for Holiday Office Parties Holiday parties are fun to attend. Relax and have a great time but remember, you work with these people. Always maintain a professional presence and decorum. Dress up for the festivities. Avoid wearing revealing garments that would send a mixed message to your colleagues.... Arrive on time and do not be the last person to leave the party. Avoid loud, personal conversations and remember that you are an ambassador for yourself and your company. Meet and greet skills include direct eye contact, a genuine smile, a pleasant voice, a professional handshake and memorable introductions. Show respect for your boss, your coworkers and your colleagues. Avoid office gossip and rise above the average. Give and Receive Compliments when someone pays you a compliment, say thank you, thank you very much. By accepting and receiving the compliment gracefully, you are acknowledging that the person has good taste. When you pay someone a compliment, make it a meaningful compliment such as Shannon, that dress is simply stunning on you or Robert that tie is perfect for you. Don’t give them the big story about where you bought it or this is so old etca simple thank you. Eat, Drink and Be Merry in moderation. Everything you say, do and wear either adds to your professional credibility or detracts from it. Greet your party host upon arrival and say thank you as you depart.

Valentine’s Day Etiquette Standards for Success by Carole Duguay... Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to communicate how you truly feel about your loved one Here are a few pointers to give her (or him!) Develop your Valentine’s Day plan. Think about what suits your personalities and relationship Make your Valentine’s Day restaurant reservation ASAP or cook a special dinner by adding a nice touch of candles and music Is there something special you want to tell your significant other on Valentine’s? Presenting your significant other with flowers or something special Don’t wait until the last minute to get a card. Dress to impress on Valentine’s because it shows your partner you care. What is important when you are in an established relationship on Valentine’s Day? What is important is planning the day: It's important not to take a relationship for granted. Not making an effort in doing something special is a sure mistake. Take the opportunity to celebrate together by perhaps shopping together or putting a little night of appetizers while watching a movie or even taking time to reminisce over pictures. Personal gestures are always appreciated, such as a nice back rub or massage. Anything that can make the night about enjoying each other's company will be a valuable gesture.
