Here is a preview of some of the Kindness Hearts in our hallways. Mrs. Z and Mrs. D's students are covering theirs with kindness messages to their friends.
Kindness week is also having an impact outside of St. Angela Merici. Carson has decided to make some unique driftwood Christmas decorations to auction off and raise money for a charity in Panama. Panama holds a special place in his families hearts. Way to spread kindness Carson. We are very proud of you! #CougarStrong #Better Together
This week marks Kindness Week. To support the spread of kindness, the St. Angela Merici Cougars will be participating in kindness activities over the next two weeks. The activities involve spreading kindness to others both within our school and within our community. This week your child(ren) will be hearing a public service announcement about kindness each day, and be encouraged to perform this act of kindness on their own. We’ve also Included a Kindness Calendar that you a...re welcome to use at home with your family. The more families spreading kindness in our community the more we showcase how we are #CougarStrong and #BetterTogether. On Thursday the 19th, we will be having a #CougarStrong #BetterTogether/Tied Together spirit day. On this day we will wear our school colours of blue and green (t-shirts if they’re in) and a bow tie, hair tie, something tye-dyed etc. to show how we are all tied together. Let’s show how we are #CougarStrong as we spread kindness this month! Kindness is sharing the best part of our hearts with those around us. If you can be anything, be kind.
Spreading acts of kindness to our secretaries and our recess supervisors. #CougarStrong #BetterTogether
Today, as a school community we observed Remembrance Day with a virtual service. The service was created by Mrs. Ennett and Mrs. Tetrault's students and was a moving and prayerful reminder of our veterans who serve and who have served in our military. Many of our classrooms displayed beautiful artwork in the hallways and classrooms to commemorate this day.
Noelle's Gift has continued to support our families our students in the SCCDSB and we are grateful for their continued support. Please consider supporting this important fundraiser so we can help them continue the great work they do.
Our grade 8's have been busy creating their Rube Goldberg STEM challenges. RUBE GOLDBERG (1883-1970) was a cartoonist, an inventor, and the only person ever to be listed in Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary as an adjective. Of the nearly 50,000 cartoons he drew in his lifetime, Rube is best known for the zany contraptions of Professor Butts. These inventions, also known as Rube Goldberg Machines, solved a simple task in the most overcomplicated, inefficient, and hilarious way ...possible. Rube Goldberg lives on in pop culture and is referenced daily in both print and digital media. His name is searchable, hash-taggable, and at best viral. But nowhere is his legacy more celebrated than through the competitions that bear his name. https://www.rubegoldberg.com/rube-the-artist/
