To stir up some Christmas spirit within our company, we recently held a contest for our team members. Everyone decorated their offices for Christmas and then we did a company vote to decide which office was the most merry and festive! And the winners were the Ladies of our Doaktown office! Congratulations to Shawna Morehouse and Laura Colford for turning their space into a Christmas wonderland!... Thanks to everyone else on our team who participated! #mutualinsurance #decoratedoffice #christmasoffice #stanleymutualteam

With heating season now in full swing, we’d like to offer some tips on wood heat, especially with regards to disposing of ashes Which can be very dangerous if not done properly. Many fires occur from the improper disposal of ashes. Examples include: putting them in the garbage before they’ve cooled off; storing the hot ashes in a combustible container, etc. Here’s a few quick tips on ash removal:... * Ashes should be removed from a wood burning unit using only a metal shovel or scoop. The ashes should be placed in a metal container with a lid * The metal container of ashes should then be placed outside on a non-combustible surface * Keep the container at least 3 feet away from your house, garage or any other structure. * Ashes should be allowed to cool for at least 7 days before disposing of them, as it can take several days for ashes to completely cool.

One more stop on our Mutual Support Program donation campaign was to Tree of Hope. Angele Palmer (right), Agent for Stanley Mutual, presented a cheque for $3,000 to Gaston Doiron (left) as well as a personal donation from herself. The Tree of Hope’s mission is to improve comfort and care for cancer patients through the purchase of specialized equipment for the Dr.-Léon-Richard Oncology Center, and by offering advanced training opportunities for specialized oncology teams her...e in New Brunswick. The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented and has threatened the health and well-being of our families, friends and neighbors. It’s also put an enormous strain on so many charities and non-profit organizations that haven’t been able to fund-raise this year for much needed money. That’s why Stanley Mutual is donating $45,000 to New Brunswick non-profit organizations as our contribution of a $2,000,000 national support program sponsored by Farm Mutual Re. We want to help our communities and give back that’s the Mutual way!
