It feels like so long ago that we hosted our "Women and Power: Leadership for Transformation and Possibility" conference in October of 2018. This conference was meant to provide a space for women to come together to share stories of power and transformation, to teach women how to overcome the societal expectations of women and how to be a leader in all aspects of your life regardless of these modern-day views. Find out more about how SFSAA is continuing to support women and educate the community about gender misogyny, the justice system, and other feminist topics by visiting our Gender Justice page: https://www.sfsaa.org/gender-justice
Do you know about Food Security and Insecurity in Canada and how it impacts our communities? Have you heard why Community Gardens could provide an essential and accessible resource for low-income families and individuals who may be affected by food insecurity? Find out more on this very important topic by following the link to our education page, where we will walk you through what it means to have food insecurity, how SFSAA contributed to the food insecurity crisis in the 1900s, and how we are continuing to do so. P.S.- these are child-friendly modules so that the whole family can learn! https://www.sfsaa.org/education
On this day, we remember those that fell. Those who fought for us, our well-being and our future and that of our country's. Please remember to take a moment of silence today to acknowledge our noble soldiers and to wear your poppy.
