Congratulations to Gibsons-based dancer and choreographer, Margaret Grenier, for winning the Walter Carsen Prize for Excellence in the Performing Arts. The Canada Council for the Arts administers the $50,000 prize, which honours Canadian professional artists in music, theatre or dance. Margaret was born in Prince Rupert, B.C., and is of Gitxsan and Cree ancestry. STA was privileged to have Margaret perform many times at the school. Both of her children graduated from STA and she is married to former STA teacher, Mr. Andy Grenier. Congratulations, Margaret! Your recognition is so well-deserved.

Local North Vancouver band, Black Pontiac, was co-founded by STA 2017 Alum, Matt Purkiss (aka Matty Mclaren, 2nd from left) and his North Van friends. Since then, the band has been heating up the airways this year with a series of hit singles.
