North Vancouver Tennis Centre reopening NVTC will open on Monday, July 13th at 9:00 am for court bookings. The hours will be Mon-Fri 9:00 am-5:30 pm. Front desk 9:00am-4:30pm. Closed weekends and holidays.

STANS Outdoor Courts update - No change Here's the answer from NVRC 'At this point, it is only casual use (single play only) for the general public. When the district and City change their guideline, we will let you know.'... Keep practicing physical distancing even if you are not sick, you should keep about two meters (six feet) from other people when you are outside of your home. This includes outdoor spaces like parks, trails and fields (casual use).

Soft Opening North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Dear STANS members, STANS Board has been working on your behalf - talking to local officials and other members of the tennis community in order to return to play.... We are in a Soft opening phase now. This means that some tennis courts like Murdo Frazer, Cloverley and Norgate tennis courts are available to the general public but there are no secured reserved times for STANS. North Vancouver Recreation and Culture will let us know when the situation changes. NO date to reinstate at this time. Stay healthy and safe all. Take care everybody!

Update from North Vancouver District Parks For Your Information The decision has been made to keep all outdoor facilities closed until June 30. It will be assessed again nearer to that date.

Communication from North Vancouver Recreation and Culture For Your Information All North Vancouver Community Recreation Centres, North Vancouver Tennis Centre and Centennial Theatre will be closed effective March 17 - except for full day spring break camps.

BREAKING NEWS We just received confirmation from North Vancouver Tennis Centre that all our court bookings from March 16th to May 1st have been cancelled. North Vancouver Rec is giving us a credit on our account that can be used towards future rentals. This credit will be used for the Fall session. You are welcome to request a reimbursment now with the understanding that you will have to pay full tuition in the Fall. The Tennis centre is not closed, members may organise their own play, in doing so, they take full responsibility for their own actions.

In response to queries regarding the Coronavirus and winter league play, we consulted all Court Captains and received mixed responses. Some teams are divided (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) , others are up to playing (Tuesday and Thursday) . After reading feedback from individual members, and considering upcoming closures of West Van and North Van recreation facilities, STANS board is in favor of cancelling the remaining Winter League Tennis at the NVRC. We feel that as a g...roup at high risk, we have a responsability to slow down and contain the spread of Coronavirus to help protect the health of our community and reduce pressure on the healthcare system. Please consider, that this is a tough decision because, we know how much tennis means to many of us. We have reached out to the NVREC about their policy on reimbursement but haven't received an answer yet. We will advise of the outcome once we know. Lets be part of the solution, no the problem. Tennis BC strongly recommends that every member club advise their membership on the following precautions for public health practices in order to reduce risk and exposure: - Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; - Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available; - Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands;... - Avoid close contact with people who are sick; - Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage; - Stay home if you are sick to avoid spreading an illness to others; and - If you are not feeling well before travelling or playing the event/game, do not attend. Safety and Welfare of STANS community is a priority! The first and best advice is not to panic. This is a time for taking action, be proactive and take precautions. So before, during and after your game, say no to a handshake, give up high fives, refuse kisses on the cheek and definitely avoid hugging and practice social distancing.... Some of you have raised concerns re. our winter early morning tennis and suggested to cancel STANS organized play for the balance of the season to avoid the risk of being infected. STANS Board have asked each Court Captains to consult with their teams and report to the board, please get in touch with your court captain and share your opinions.
