Stark Imagery 09.02.2021

Every situation has a silver lining. During my unplanned stay over in Namibia, I've begun to look at the night sky. A sky with almost no light pollution. I'm trying out new skillsets, learning from webcasts, and experimenting with new techniques. This is my second attempt to capture the Carina Nebula while here. I'm looking forward to what I can achieve by the time we leave. Looking forward is the part of goal setting. And having a metric to measure progress. Set goals in wri...ting. I want to capture more of the Nebula, less of the background stars, and get sharper focus. Let's see what each week produces for me. What about your time in isolation? See more

Self isolation. This tree has survived years of drought in Etosha, Namibia. It has a strong root system that reaches deep. It can teach us much about how we can survive on our own for the coming days. We will make it through and flourish.

This waterfall in Shifen, Taiwan, is nick named 'The Niagara Falls of Taiwan'. It takes 2 train rides, and a healthy uphill hike to get to it. Then there are the stairs, lots of stairs. But when you can rest at the path's end and revel in the quiet power of the water tumbling over the black rock you know the effort was worth it.
