We're constantly trying to find a better way, a safer way to work including Rodman's endeavour pictured here. By bringing over two local exhausts to extract the fumes while he and his co-workers welded down the base plate on this unit, he ensured the safety of himself and his workmates. Thanks to these thoughtful efforts, our staff can continue to focus on quality workmanship of all we produce without sacrificing safety. #Safety #Welding #WorldKindnessDay #Fabricators #OilAndGas #CanadianEnergy

We asked a few of our staff members who have served in the Canadian Army to share a bit of their experience. Andrew Travers shares his experience while serving during the Cold War, and Eric Tom shares about his role while Canada was still sending people to Afghanistan. Andrew: I was fortunate enough to join the Canadian Forces Reserves as a Corporal, Field Engineer in the 8 Field Engineer Regiment, at the very end of the Cold War. It was a reliable part-time and summer job,... gave me a chance to grow up a bit, and was an opportunity to learn skills I still use every now and then in civilian life. It also stirred in me a sense of pride in both my fellow members and Canada as I watched first a few, and then a flood of them do tours in the years after I had mustered out. Eric: I served in the Canadian Army Reserve as a Combat Engineer with the 33 Field Engineer Squadron that is a sub-unit of the 41 Combat Engineer Regiment. My primary role was demolition, clearing minefields, field defence, base and bridge construction, as well as being able to move and operate with infantry units. I enlisted after I completed my post secondary education as an opportunity to give back to Canada and help my fellow Canadians. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget

There are many factors we take into consideration when designing facilities for dependable operability in cold weather situations. These customized designs factor in desired performance parameters, plant location, and ambient conditions to ensure our modularized facilities are constructable and operable in the harshest of environments. Our attention to detail means everything down to the last stainless steel screw is exactly what is required for total project success. What exactly is steam tracing for? We talked with Project Engineer Technologist Eric Tom, C.E.T, who has been working on a stabilizer currently getting the treatment in our shop. He says, The steam tracing on this stabilizer unit is applied to the piping and vessels to maintain the process fluid above the pour point temperature during shutdowns. If the process fluid temperature drops below its pour point temperature, it becomes too viscous to flow and risks damaging and/or p...lugging up equipment. Steam tracing can also be used for other applications such as process temperature control or freeze protection." Eric continued, saying this specific unit will see over 3,000 ft of tubing installed for its steam tracing. "This stabilizer unit utilizes insulation on the piping and vessels to assist with maintaining process temperature by minimizing heat loss. The insulation is also used for safety purposes, protecting personnel from coming into contact with high temperature equipment. #Stabilizer #SteamTracing #Engineer #Fabrication #OilAndGas #HowItsDone #CanadianEnergy
