Thanks Tim Campbell and Skip Kutz for putting on a wonderful Concert from the Couch last week! A delightful mix of Gypsy Jazz and Swing with a few holiday songs mixed in. There might have been a "dad joke" or two in there as well... did anyone else catch those? A big thanks to YOU for tuning in and to all those who contributed to our Giving Tuesday Campaign. We raised just over $2,500 to help sustain the Station Arts Centre!! ... These concerts would not be possible for us to put on without the support of Funks Funeral Home, Rosthern Agencies, Affinity CU, Town of Rosthern, OSAC, SK Arts, Canadian Heritage, Sask Culture and Saskatchewan Lotteries.

#GivingTuesday is a global initiative where millions of individuals come together for a day of giving. Last year $21.9 million was raised online in Canada on GivingTuesday. This year our goal is to receive donations to help sustain the Station Arts Centre. Without the pressure of having to raise funds to keep our heat on, we can focus on spreading joy through our programs, online or in small groups in person at little to no cost for patrons and online viewers. Mark your cale...ndars. On December 1, consider signing up to make a small donation, monthly. Donating online makes it easy and gives you the option to do a one-time donation or a monthly donation. Help sustain us for the artists of future generations.

Thursday’s in the Gallery are underway! Last night we had some lovely people come down to the gallery for a tour of the art exhibit ‘Big Earth Series’ by artist Val Wiebe. Did you know a gallery tour is the best way to get the most out of an exhibit? It’s one of our favourite things to do. A great way to learn more about the artist and the stories behind her paintings while having an open discussion about art. Did you know we are open Thursday evenings from 3-9? We hope you’ll join us next Thursday... and hey, if a gallery tour isn’t your thing, pop into say hi or bring a friend along for a glass of wine or delicious beer in our cozy, lamp-lit train station.

Last week on our way to Regina we stopped in at Parsons Dietrich Pottery Studio in Moose Jaw. It was our first time visiting their studio and wow... was it ever cool! Did you know they are the potters behind the Tea Room's staple wheat sheaf plates, bowls and mugs? Dietrich took us around their studio where we got to see the new pieces they are working on, learned about their process and even got to check out their gas kiln which is really incredible. As we were there tourin...g, we got to thinking... should we do a Studio Session with a local potter? Let us know in the comments below! Check out their website or visit their studio in Moose Jaw if you have the chance. http://www.parsons-dietrich-pottery.com/

A Message from the Station Arts Tea Room: We’re back! After a lengthy hiatus the Tea Room will be firing up it’s soup pots and getting bread into the oven in anticipation of reopening our doors. Since Covid began we’ve all had to adapt how we do things, and the Tea Room is no exception. We will be adhering to Government of Saskatchewan safety protocols that are in place for dining establishments to create a safe, enjoyable environment for all our clientele and staff. The... same staff will be here to greet you, though they may not be immediately recognizable wearing their masks. To help us maintain a safe environment we will have social distancing measures in place and are asking all of our patrons to wear a mask except when seated at their table. We’ve also modified our hours of operation. Beginning Wednesday, September 2 we will be open from 10am - 2pm thru to Saturday. We encourage reservations and for those patrons who aren’t ready to be dining inside we will have take-out options available. We’re looking forward to seeing you again soon. Bob, Dennis, Bev and Janet
