We are sad to announce that effective August 17, 2020 Dr. Ethan Zuker will no longer be practicing in our office. I will no longer be practicing at Chestermere Station Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. I have made the difficult decision to transition to my own practice. Chestermere Station Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics will continue to see patients under the guidance of Dr. Sean Beattie. Dr. Sean has been seeing patients at the office for over a year. I can give Dr. Sean my solid recommendation to continue helping with your dental care, and his philosophies, mission and policies are very similar to mine. You will find him to be a person of high morals and integrity. My sincere message to you is that it has been an honour and privilege to serve as your dentist for the last 5 years. Thank you for your continued patience. We are actively working to reschedule all cancelled appointments. Our orthodontic patients have all been contacted to re-book, if you inadvertently were missed please contact us to schedule an appointment. Pediatric recall exams and cleanings will resume as of the beginning of July. If your child had treatment or a surgery cancelled, please know we are diligently working to catch up on the back log. The protocol for attending our offic...e has changed slightly. The lobby/waiting room doors are now open. If you are uncomfortable waiting in the lobby you may return to your vehicle once the check in process is completed. It is recommended to wear a mask if you have one. Please do not feel you need to purchase one, it can be made of fabric or a medical mask. Temperatures will be taken with a touch-less forehead scan. If the reading is equal to or above 38 Celsius the appointment will need to be rescheduled (at least 10 days from original appointment, longer if symptoms persist). Hand sanitizer will be provided at the front door. You will be required to fill out a consent form for yourself or your child which includes question to ensure you are in good health, no COVID-19 symptoms, no history of travel, or exposure to positive COVID-19 cases. After the consent is completed it is requested that parents/guardians of orthodontic patients please return to their vehicle for the duration of the appointment. One parent or guardian may accompany our pediatric patients. As we do have many young patients please notify staff prior to the scheduled appointment time if this is not acceptable. No siblings will be permitted in the clinic. Our waiting room will be open to patients only. Any questions you may have regarding your child’s treatment can be discussed either prior to the appointment or with the staff at the front door when you arrive. Tooth brushing in clinic is not permitted at this time so please ensure yours/your child’s teeth are clean prior to coming to the appointment. A mouth rinse will be provided prior to being seated (30 second rinse with 1% hydrogen peroxide). This may not be feasible with our youngest patients. If there have been any changes to your address, phone number, insurance, etc., please inform our staff prior to the appointment (via phone or email) to ensure minimal contact at the administrative desk. The latest guidelines provided by the Alberta Dental Association and College (our governing body), state that urgent in addition to emergent dental treatment can begin so long as proper PPE and social distancing guidelines are in place. We are still currently awaiting the arrival of our enhanced PPE. If we are currently able to reschedule your appointment, based on these slightly new guidelines, you will be contacted. We are working diligently this week to triage those p...atients that fit these guidelines and will schedule you as soon as we can. Please be patient and keep in mind the limited scope of treatment that we are permitted to do at this time. The Alberta Government announced today that dental offices can begin opening as early as May 4th. While this is exciting news, we must continue to wait for guidance from our governing body, the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADAC). We are anticipating many changes in how our office will operate, including rules regarding physical distancing, what procedures we will be able to perform, new PPE requirements and more. Please bear with us as we await the regulations from the ADAC and work to reopen in the safest way possible for patients and staff. We will reach out to begin rescheduling appointments ASAP!

The Alberta Dental Association and College have mandated dental offices can only provide emergency dental treatment to patients who have suffered trauma, have significant swelling or signs of infection, or prolonged pain/ bleeding that is not controlled by over the counter medication. The above listed conditions, if left untreated, could potentially burden hospital emergency depa...rtments and compromise a patient's health. During this crisis, our team will be following our governing bodies mandated protocols, including the wearing of personal protective gear such as masks, eyewear, face shields, gloves, gowns, and head covers to ensure yours and our team's safety.
