Thanks for sharing this Nicole. I'm with you ... if they vote a kitty out each week it would make me sad :-(

It's the first day of Spring. The sun is cooperating ... now if only temperature would get on board too!

This is Hansel (sorry, maybe not at his most photogenic) but he feels the same way about his one hour of lost sleep as I do ... YAWN. Why can't we just leave the clocks alone?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME! This pretty little girl is Lucy, my very first ever "Stay at Home Kitty" kitty. She's an adorable 3-legged girl with the sweetest disposition. One year ago today her kitty pawrents made the decision to trust this newbie cat sitter to look after their precious fur baby. Their trust gave me the confidence to carry on with my crazy business idea. Since Lucy I have looked after almost 100 kitties - and 1 bunny - and fallen a little bit in love with each of them. I'm looking forward to all the kitties I will get to visit again and all the kitties I have yet to meet as I start my second year as a "cat sitter". <3

This is Oscar and he's making the exact face that I make when I'm standing inside the door taking off my boots after shovelling the sidewalks and the driveway AND I hear the snow plow go down the street.

Sending a big hello and very belated Happy New Year to everyone. I took some time (All of January! Where did it go??) away from social media - there just are not enough hours in the day sometimes. Yes, kitty sitting kept me busy (thanks!) but I also had another project on the go and I had to tackle my spare bedroom, which was starting to look like a candidate for an episode of "Hoarders". I missed everyone and their posts. But I'm back ... Happy February!

Visiting with one of my kitties this evening and walked in to see this. Coincidentally enough Shadow's holiday version of doing the treadmill looks a lot like mine at the moment.

Milo knows why Tabby cats (and lots of others too, but you have to look really closely) all have an "M" on their forehead. Do you? Here's Milo's Kitty Christmas story ... ************************************************************************* On that night so long ago Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem searching, without luck, for a place to spend the night. Mary was very pregnant and knew her time was close, but alas, all the Inns were full. Finally a kindly innkeeper o...ffered them the use of his stable so they could have shelter through the cold night. As she suspected she would, Mary gave birth that night. Although the stable offered shelter from the worst of the night it was still a drafty place and despite being swaddled and in the manger, baby Jesus began to shiver from the wind creeping in through the cracks in the walls. Mary placed blankets over his little body but he continued to shiver. As is the case with so many new mothers Mary wasnt sure what else to do. She spoke softly to the newborn baby, I dont know what to do. I thought you were hungry, so I fed you. I thought you were wet, so I changed you. I thought you were cold, so I wrapped another blanket around you. Mary turned to the animals in the stable and beckoned them to move closer to her baby so their body heat would warm Jesus. They surrounded him, but the child continued to shiver. She rocked the baby while Joseph added more clean hay to the manger, but the baby continued to cry in discomfort. A small tabby cat, who herself had given birth and raised a litter in this very stable, knew what needed to be done. When Mary gently placed her child back into the manger, the tabby cat jumped into the makeshift cradle, cuddled in closely next to the child and began to purr. It was the sweetest lullaby and the baby stopped crying and fell into a comfortable sleep. To show her gratitude to the cat Mary reached into the manger and stroked the little cats head. She drew her finger over its forehead in the shape of her own initial the letter M. From that day forward tabby cats would forever have an M on the foreheads to remind the world of how one of their kind had comforted the newborn baby Jesus.

DECEMBER KITTY OF THE MONTH I kitty sat Felix last month and when I tried to send my daily update emails to his pawrents my auto correct would always change his name from Felix to Feliz my phone already seemed to be in the festive spirit ... obviously it was a sign. Felix was meant to be the December holiday Kitty of the Month. Felix is a senior gentleman with some health issues, but that doesnt stop him from exploring his kitty-proof backyard every day or from being a friendly kitty who loves to tell stories. I visited with Felix in the evenings and, let me tell you, what better way to wind up the day than spending time with a cuddly, purring cat in your lap. So, Happy Holidays from Felix and from me.

To my KW kitty parents who have kitties that go outdoors or also have pups to walk ... careful around Prosperity and Ottawa tonight. A coyote was spotted in the area.
