UPDATE: 2 Spots Left! Mondays are always amazing and they just got a little bit more awesome! I’m excited to share that I have secured a private outdoor space to hold our Buns, Guns & Core training sessions - yes that’s right, we’re getting, Fresh air Workouts with Jax!... Starting Monday July 20 and running for six weeks until Wednesday August 26, the class/group training will take place every Monday and Wednesday at 7 pm. If you’re tired of working out alone or being indoors while looking at a screen, then come join me as we workout ‘al fresco’. To ensure social distancing regulations are met a limited number of spots will be available and attendance is by pre-registration only. No drop- ins will be allowed. Registration will provide you with 12 fresh air workouts, and a whole lot of fun and calorie burning. 3 SPOTS REMAINING! To further meet safety regulations, there will not be any equipment sharing and the workouts will not require any equipment from you other than a thick towel or mat for floor work. If you have, you can bring hand weights of 1 - 5 lbs. or 2 full cans (check your pantry for those cans of corn & peas) or bottles of water, but is not required. The workouts will be for all levels of fitness and alternate options will be provided at all times. While in the past our group workouts have consisted mainly of women, these workouts are for both women and men - everyone is welcome! No more excuses, come out, get moving, stay healthy and enjoy the fresh air! Georgetown is entering stage 3 this Friday and that's great news all around! Specifically for us it means I can open more spaces in our summer session of outdoor group training-boot camp style workouts. Join us for fresh air workouts every Monday and Wednesday at 7pm for a 5 week session. Workouts are for all levels of fitness and other than a mat or thick towel for floor work, equipment is not required.... There is also plenty of parking on our outdoor private space which makes it that much easier to get to. Details as follows: 5 week session every Monday & Wednesday July 27 until August 26 Time: 7pm Cost: $100.00 Registration is required, no drop ins. Happy Monday morning! No, this wasn't my workout partner this morning but if anyone knows him, I'll be working out at my pool tomorrow morning and he's welcome to join me ;) As we all know Covid has changed our lives drastically and the fitness industry is still in limbo as to exactly how/when we'll be able to proceed. We hope it's real soon! My area of focus has been small group and personal training and it will continue to be once we are able to open again and offer i...n-person training. As for how that will look, it is yet to be determined not only by official regulations but by the comfort level of clients. In the next couple of weeks, with more concrete direction from government, I will be making necessary changes to our studio to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all clients. Once complete, I will email clients and post an update on-line. In the the meantime, I wish you all well and despite maybe being a little bored, we have many blessings for which to be grateful for, starting with our health and family. Happy Monday yall! Im entering my 6th week post-op and although I still cant apply pressure on my foot and spend the majority of my days with my foot elevated , the swelling has gone down enough where I can hop around with crutches around my home (for a few minutes) and am in better spirits as the worst is over - I think. Not being active for 5 weeks has me a bit out of shape, ok a lot, and having gained a little fat around my belly. Its also done a real number on my ...right leg as its overcompensating for the left, even with the aid of crutches. Not sure when or how Ill be able to get some cardio in, but for the moment Im content in being able to get some seated leg stretches (with my loyal pooch at my side) and floor abdominal work. So lets cheer to Mondays, to the sunshine, to our beautiful family, to the wonderful friends I have in my life who have visited me, brought food for my family and checked up on me with simple texts hey how ya doing?. As I sit here, 4 weeks post-op, looking at my mangled foot, it truly is unbelievable that as women, we truly to neglect our feet. From slipping on those flat, no support flip flops to those sky high 4 inch heels, our feet are probably the most abused part of our bodies yet are so important to every day movement. Happy Friday everyone! We have blessings to be thankful so give yourself a hug and take in that wonderful air we breathe. Today Im 3 weeks post op and on the mend . Yesterday I was back at the hospital to have my cast removed and the pins taken out and let me tell you, I have learned I have a high pain threshold. I also learned that I found it interestingly funny that the surgeon took a pair of plyers and pulled those pins out of my foot as if he was uncorking a bottle ...of wine . But even more interesting was my observation that misery truly loves company. While waiting my turn in the waiting area, many conversations were taking place of poor me topics amongst others. Yes, many of us are experiencing pain, inconvenience and disruption in our lives but all things temporary in the grand scheme of life. A gentleman who was leading the pity fest amongst the strangers turned friends for the moment, turned to me and said this really sucks, why are they taking so long, you must be in a lot of pain , to which I replied no, Im good, Im healthy, my foot is mangled but Im thankful Im waiting in the fracture clinic not the oncology department . Needless to say my response didnt grant me entry to the pity club assembled temporarily but thats ok because in the picture of life, no matter what we may be going through, there is someone else with bigger struggles and higher hurdles to overcome. So be thankful for another day and take in that beautiful fresh winter air. See more

Happy Saturday everyone! 2020 has had a great start with professional and personal goals in the making. January I achieved a professional goal that was in the making since January 2019 ( more on that in later posts), and February has come in with a kick, a lot of meds and a challenge which I intend to take on and beat the statistics . As a fitness professional, our goal and passion is healthy bodies , promoting an active lifestyle and guiding our clients in th...eir fitness journey. Which is why I had put off a much needed surgery for over 2 years as I could not fathom not fulfilling my duty to my clients. In the past 18 months, in consultation with my surgeon, I had to eliminate my group fitness classes to lessen the damage on my feet, which was a difficult task but one I knew had to be done. Then in December of 2019, a follow up with my surgeon, he was clear no more putting off surgery the damage to my feet was increasing and daily simple walking, which we do without thought, was a painful task for me. And so with sadness, I had to cancel the winter training sessions. Today I am 1 day post-op and let me tell you, this pain is Incredible! I have a pharmacy of medications to ease the pain but with warnings of addiction , Im trying my best to deal with it as much as I can without the meds - well see how that goes . The doctor advised it will be 4 weeks until I can put some pressure on my foot with the help of crutches and and 4 months until I will be able to walk on it without any aids - 4 months ! No way José I say, if I can do anything about it! Wishful thinking perhaps, but I intend to beat these predictions and be healthy and up and training asap! There will be challenges to achieve this but if it doesnt challenge you, it doesnt make you grow.
