Wondering what our new online learning is all about Read below to get a better idea of what to expect with our online courses this upcoming season > Learn at your own pace. When you sign up for the AST 1 (AST 2 & Backcountry refresher coming soon!) with us you will be set up with a user name / password. You can go through the course at your own pace in the comfort of your home. The course allows you to go back through material if you want to refresh right before the fiel...d day. >You will have access to the online course until 1 week after you complete the field day. >We will meet up via zoom the evening before your field day to answer any questions you may have & expand on topics from the online course. >The online course is a mix of videos, text and quizzes. It covers all the curriculum from the AST 1 classroom & must be completed to receive your AST 1 certificate. >It is a lot of information (think a full day in class) so put aside 6-7 hours to complete it. >Support --> when you register for the course you will be invited to our private facebook group. You can post questions, tell stories and let us know how its going for you. We are always available to answer questions throughout the course via email & phone as well. >We do offer the option to sign up for the online course only if you are out of the country or not sure what your winter schedule looks like just yet. You can always register for a field day down the road when the time is right. We are stoked about this new addition to our courses this season & would love to hear your feedback as you work through the course. If you haven't done so yet be sure to check out our winter schedule!

How to wear your transceiver There are a couple key things we need to think about when putting on our transceiver It is highly recommended to wear your transceiver in the harness it came with. Transceiver pockets are cute but are not the most reliable way to make sure your transceiver stays with you at all times. We also want to make sure our screen is facing in to protect is from getting smashed. ... Make sure your transceiver is always attached to your harness. The idea of this is if we were to get caught in a secondary avalanche while searching the transceiver would still be attached to us. Wear your transceiver against your base layers. Easy to access but still protected by your jacket. You never want to have to take your transceiver off to change layers. Always, always, always have your transceiver on you (not in your sled or backpack). Have it turned on & in send mode from the moment you leave the parking lot until you get back. Our avalanche courses are booking up! If you want to learn more about safely adventuring through the mountains check out our schedule & join us for a course this season
