Happy Diwali to all those in our community celebrating. This week, the Grade 7s have been learning about the meaning of Diwali, Rangoli, and the significance of various cultural practices and traditions. Twice this week, they have gone outside the main entrance of the School to practice Rangoli; an art form that originates in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the ground using rice, sand, powder, and/or flowers. The practice of creating Rangoli is often a meditative exercise, which helps us feel joy, gratitude, and peace.
