The NBVLC teams is having a busy semester and we're looking to hire someone for a new online teaching position. It's a real mix of admin/technical so not perhap...s for everyone. It should be posted by districts soon, is open to existing B contract teachers, and closes on the 28th. Here's a bit of the posting... Online Technical and Administrative Lead Teacher The Department of Education and Early Childhood is seeking to hire a 1.0 FTE Online Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year, with the possibility of extension. This position will include a combination of teaching and non-teaching duties, focusing on administrative leadership and technical operations of the distance learning program and D2L Brightspace learning environment. This position will work from a school, or district-based location, and report to the Learning Specialist for Online Learning as part of the online learning team. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE Administrative and Technical 1. Participate in the development and delivery of training to teachers for D2L Brightspace 2. Support the technical administration of D2L Brightspace: including course creation, management of user accounts, support of offshore school programs 3. Work as part of leadership team for existing online teachers, e.g. leading meetings 4. Manage correspondence and general inquiries related to distance learning 5. Work with team leadership to enhance delivery and management of programs Teaching 6. Teach courses as assigned (partial load) using D2L Brightspace, WebEx and other tools 7. Provide support to online students with frequent and timely communication 8. Communicate local facilitators and other school-based staff to support student success in programs 9. Track student progress, concerns, etc. and relay them to schools (e.g. via progress reports) 10. Update and maintain course content 11. Other duties as part of distance learning team
