We provide high quality pasture board at a private, quiet facility in the Irricana area. We keep our numbers low to ensure a high level of care for all the horses and enough space & grass for everyone. On-site, experienced staff providing superior care for your horse. This is a place "Where Horses Come First"! (as my husband can attest to)... Feed: On pasture ( (high quality hay fed 4 times a day in winter) with loose minerals and salt available 24/7. Horses can also be fed separate if required, at no extra cost. Horses are checked on at least 4 times a day. Overhead shelters and automatic waterer. Large, outdoor sand arena, round pen, and many fields to ride in. Tack room and trailer parking available. Fencing consists of board or electric tape with straight wire. We specialize in feeding all ages of horses, from foaling out mares & caring for young horses to handling the feeding requirements of senior horses. Price: $250.00 / month Owner is an experienced and knowledgeable horse owner, trainer, judge, instructor and former breeder. This made me laugh!
Such a pretty picture! We were out fencing and I couldn’t resist capturing this moment.

Barn/Farm Hacks...you're welcome :-)
Wouldn’t these be cool to have?
A great man - RIP Billy Cook
Hay nets I get that hay is so expensive these days & you don’t want to waste it nor do you want a messy horse to drag it through his bed & add insult to injury ...with him peeing & pooing on it. A lot of people use hay nets, but do you ever stop to watch HOW they get their hay out of their nets? The horse tugs away & if the hay net is tied high then the underneath of his neck is getting a thorough work out, this can then give a false impression of how your horse is working. It can look like his neck is on upside down. Then you get the small holed hay nets designed for the greedy horses & haylage & the horse has to work even harder for his hay. That constant tugging & pulling isn’t really doing your horse a lot of good. The TMJ is a very small joint & the muscles surrounding the poll & neck are subject to strain.
Just too funny!
This brought a tear to my eye....... I'll never forget....
One of the most valuable teachings we can receive from our equine partners is the ability to be present
Horses never cease to amaze me!
On Episode 20 of the Cutting Edge Podcast we sit down with the Calgary Stampede Open Champion, Brad Pedersen, and his wife, Heather Pedersen, to talk all thi...ngs western performance... but let's be real, mostly about their great horse, Downtown Calico. Both Brad and Heather are accomplished competitors, and we chat about their program, Pedersen Training Centre, the differences between cow horse and cutting (spoiler alert - Brad's had some major success in both) and some of the great horses they've both shown over the years. Plus, Brad walks us through his Calgary Stampede championship where the pair marked a blazing 225 and Heather fills us in on how they acquired their great mare and how special she is to their family. To listen to the full interview you can simply search "Cutting Edge Podcast" in your podcast app on your phone OR listen online at www.westerntwistmedia.com/podcast. -- : James Hudyma/Calgary Stampede Agriculture
HEALTH ALERT | Health Canada is advising Canadians to stop using all human and veterinary drug products containing gentian violet. Click the link below to read ...more: Veterinary Drugs: In Canada, there were nine registered veterinary drug products containing gentian violet, four of which were available as of April 2019: Blu Kote Dr Naylors, Cristisol, Guard and Wound Spray, and Wound Clear Spray. These products were used to treat surface wounds and eye infections in food-producing and companion animals (e.g., cattle, poultry, horses, dogs, cats). All manufacturers have voluntarily stopped marketing these products, their product licences have been cancelled, and any products that were on the Canadian market have been recalled.
This would be a blast!
So pleased to see this - well deserved!
Great memories!
This applies to over-working the same maneuver too.
Check out Tower Tack when you are at the Mane Event!
This old horse, the Rancher said, she’s seen some better days, she’s eating up my profits, and costs a lot for hay.... Another horse would suit me, a stronger one at that, shes seen a lot of miles just like my cowboy hat. This old horse, the Rancher said, she helped me herd my steer, I’m pretty sure shes magic, I know I hold her dear. Another horse would suit me, one that can run fast, maybe one that’s younger, or maybe one that lasts. This old horse, the Rancher said, she’s long and far in tooth, my children do remember, her fondly from their youth. Another horse would suit me, a gelding in his prime, one that needs less fixin’, that helps me save a dime. Why, they asked, then keep her? why not trade her now? bring her to an auction? replace her with a cow? The Rancher’s brow grew heavy, he took a staggered step, his eyes did show his hardships, in wrinkles, as they crept. His breath, he took in deeply, as he poised to say his words, it’s as if the earth grew silent, that his message should be heard. This old horse, the Rancher said, has given me her life, I wouldn’t trade for anything, nor either, would my wife. Another horse would suit me, and perhaps someday will come, but this old gal, I love her, she is the chosen one. This old horse, the Rancher said, her service she did lend, her and I, have seen the years, this old horse, she is my friend. Another horse would suit me well, but her home is here to keep, I owe her sanctuary, my love for her is deep. Another horse would suit me well, and younger days for me, and I will keep my promise, until our last breaths, set us free. Artist- Don Stivers
Well Done Dr. Léguillette! https://www.ucalgary.ca//vet-med-researcher-studies-new-ca
And another great!
I have always like any horse with Poco Bueno breeding!
That time of year - too funny!
Now that is the way to clean stalls!
Yeah, that time of year!
Horses have more emotional awareness than you think.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
This is why I hate 2 year olds being shown or raced - just WAY too early, both on their body and their mind!
Great people to work for and learn from!
I get so frustrated reading ads that aren’t worded right or misleading! Here is s good lesson.
