SteepleJac was pleasantly engaged in the winter wonderland of the gateway to the Rockies - the Crowsnest Pass. There will be so much to do while we anticipate spring thaw, the opening of the New Crowsnest Pass Golf Course, and the addition of the ppretigious course to the SteepleJAC System in 2020. . . . Steeplejac had the great pleasure to wander the magnificent awe inspiring beauty in the Crowsnest Pass. A side stepping winter trek into the backcoun...try along York Creek Ridge showcased a glimpse of the backside of the "moving" Turtle Mountain which is famous for the historic collapse causing the Frank Slide off its northeastern face. The abandoned tracks of a coal mining trolley stood out amongst many reminents of the past coal industry as well as symbolizing and being evidence to the present day development and dependence for the economy of the communities in the area. The quiet appreciation of the majestic Crowsnest Mountain as swirls and bands of clouds danced on the peak teasing spectators with partial glimpses of the mountain in its splendor and entirety. The cool mesmerizing mist of Lumbreck Falls built ice castles with help of the gentle hands of Mother Nature. The quaint and warm welcome from a hidden gem nestled in the town of Coleman Alberta settled icy chills and gave warm comfort to start our day with a filling home cooked breakfast and bottomless coffee cup - Chris' Restaurant is a must visit. To conclude the day and satisfy any appetite, a creative dining experience with the Rum Runner's masterpiece of a sirloin tip bison burger accompanied by a tasty cranberry sundried tomato (+) house salad. . . .
