Let’s talk Christmas Spirit.... Meet Charlie. He took it upon himself to raise some money for Steinbach Community Outreach. What better way then to spread some joy through baking and selling gingerbread men?! Charlie came by yesterday to donate his hard earned money: just over $700.00!! Seriously! I’m blown away. Thank you Charlie, and thank you to everyone who helped him make this a monumental success!

Thank you Alyson Loewen and crew for sharing some hot coffee with our guests while they wait in line today!

Here's a great giving project you can do from home! As a countdown to Christmas, each day take something you have on hand and put it in a box. At the end of the season donate the contents to Steinbach Community Outreach who support those in need in our community! Feel free to make substitutions if you don't happen to have an item on this list handy.

A huge thank you to Clearspring Centre together with Boston Pizza for sponsoring a special night in this Christmas season and delivering a little joy to our guests during these difficult times.

A lot of Outreach friends were asking.... Feel free to pass it on to those that were close to Daniel, but also be aware that Covid restrictions will limit attendance to 50 people. It will be held in the SMC church gym (downstairs from Outreach).

Two boxes of brand new scarves and mittens from Canadian Tire! Winter is around the corner and it’s not too early to start preparing! Thanks Canadian Tire!

Fun with produce! We have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with The Farmers Market this summer! It’s not cheap to eat healthy, and our guests have benefited greatly from the generous donations of various vendors each week. A special shout out to Gods Acres for their generous weekly contribution!

So this just happened! Wow! We are so honoured for the recognition of excellence for a non profit organization. Thank you Steinbach Chamber of Commerce, and thank you good people of Steinbach for helping us get where we are today! Let’s keep working together to show love, care, practical help, and compassion to those around us.

We remember Brian: Our Outreach family was able to gather together and share memories and stories of our dear friend who passed away this summer. Brian was a gentle, quiet soul whose kindness and generosity was an example to us all. We have already been missing his regular presence during coffee time. Special condolences to his brother James and the rest of the family!

It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to another one of our Outreach family. Daniel worked his way into all of our hearts over the last many years. We had the privilege of walking alongside him and seeing much positive change in his inner and outer life, brought on by both his desire to change, and a new and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. He sure wasn’t perfect but he sure was loved and will be missed by many.

SCO and Today House are pleased to announce that our organizations have become one! SCO and Today House have always worked very closely together so it was a natural progression that we combine our services and come together under one umbrella to deal with homelessness in our community.

Meet Mistir. He is a long time guest and friend of Outreach. Giving back is important to him and he is so generous to us! Every week he comes by with bags of milk for our guests and we recently have also benefited from some of his garden produce. Today is his birthday and he came by with treats for US! Wish him happy birthday with us help spread the love

Hey Friends of Outreach! The Taste of Summer Charity BBQ season is on and we would love to see you there for a hotdog lunch on Wednesday when proceeds go to support SCO! Save the date!

Come get some potatoes! Just a few pounds of potatoes (400 pounds in fact!!) for our Outreach guests and cooks! These are lovingly grown and donated by Gods Acres Farm.

Cheers to new partnerships! Thank you to all the vendors at the Steinbach Farmers Market for donating your leftover goods at the end of the day! We appreciate your generosity and look forward to a wonderful summer together.

A few words about the many phone calls we’ve been getting regarding the lady by Clearspring : THANK YOU! THANK YOU for being a compassionate community that cares and wants to help! THANK YOU for checking in with us to bring awareness, as well as to check the facts. THANK YOU for giving her the name and number of a variety of our organizations that would be glad to help her. Sadly - she has refused the help of our organizations, she has no connection to our community an...d her stories don’t check out. She has been spotted in several communities in the southeast as well as in Winnipeg. However, the fact that her stories don’t check out does not mean that she is not in need. It is our belief that she is being exploited, and that in itself is worth showing compassion and care towards her. It’s likely that any money given to her is NOT going into her pockets alone. We would encourage your compassion in the form of money to go towards any of the incredible local non profit organizations that exist to help people in need. Thank you friends! See more

MARY BROWNS CHICKEN is in town everyone! They open on Tuesday and we are the first ones to try their first batch of chicken! (Spoiler alert: its really good- and we feel spoiled:) Go check them out!

I don’t know about you guys but now that my kids are home from school due to covid 19 they’re snacking me out of house and home! It ain’t easy when you struggle to get food on the table at the best of times but now we are teachers too. Snack time!
