Dear Dancers & Parents, As we are in lockdown and not allowed to conduct classes in the studio we are offering our Recreational Dancers two options. #1. Transfer to classes over zoom. This will allow dancers to continue to train so we do not lose the progress we have made and give our children much needed exercise. It has been proven that dancers that train online can maintain their strength and technique. #2. Put fees and lessons on hold until we can return to studio Please... ( [email protected]) Our Exam Ballet students and Competitive Dancers will be starting online classes as of Monday January 11th following our December Red Zone Revised Schedule. Steps will charge a reduced rate and only for 3 weeks of classes. Our staff will design their classes to allow for limited space. Some of the areas our classes will focus on are technique, strength training, choreography, syllabus, musicality and artistic expression. It is our hope that this will only be a Temporary option until we can get back into the studio. We simply do not want to lose the progress we have made the first half of our season. Should you decide to partake in online classes please respond and we will supply you with zoom meeting details and process payments starting on Monday January 11th. Should you not want to pratake please respond and we will put your child’s dance lessons/fees on hold until we can return to the studio. Please note that only Acro classes are now running on Tuesday night due to new Red Zone Capacity restrictions. All of Ms. Amanda’s classes have been moved to Sunday and Ms. Michelle’s Ballet to Monday night. I just wanted to say thank you as we make adjustments to accommodate red zone protocols. This is a fluid situation and we appreciate your support.

Dear Parents & Dancers, I am waiting to get a written reply from Hamilton Bylaw office and some city councillors. Once I receive in writing a clear guideline for the new Red Zone restrictions regarding dance studios we will restructure our schedule. Until that time our classes are on hold. As we move into the Red zone we will be adding more controlled entering and exit procedures to help with spacing in hallways. Dancers should now dress in appropriate outerwear while waiting to enter the building. Dancers should only arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class times as you may need to wait outside before you are let in. Also as stated in our waiver and for your reference please review the below screening questions and do not attend classes if you answer yes to any ...of questions. Thank you everyone for working with us as we navigate through these challenging times. Steps is committed to do all we can to keep our students and staff safe. We will continue with our added measures: Mask required during all classes Temperature check and screening upon entry to the studio Disinfectant gel provided upon entry to studio and when entering each classroom All surfaces of each studio (floors, ballet barres) will be disinfected between each class using foggers with government approved disinfectant. Thank you Dancers and Teachers for a wonderful Tuesday night of Dancing at Steps. Its all hands on deck screening and organizing our students so we can dance safely. Only had time to take a few pictures. Tonight we welcomed Exam Grade 3+, 4 and Intermediate Advance Ballet, Primary, Junior and Youth Recreational Ballet, Competitive Acro classes and Teams and Youth Open Jazz.

And we are back doing what we love, safely.

STEPS DANCE SAFE -COVID PLAN Steps will comply with all Government guidelines. Our aim is to provide extra measures. 1. Class sizes will be limited to accommodate 6 ft. spacing. 2. Students will be screened upon entry and hand free temperature will be taken. 3. Disinfectant gel will be provided upon entry to studio and each classroom.... 4. Change rooms will be closed to avoid dancers congregating. Dancers must come dressed for classes and bring other items needed in small dance or shoe bag. 5. Dancers will remove shoes and place on shoe racks and hang their coats on one of the many racks placed around studio. 6. Class room and all surfaces ( mats, ballet bars, floors, props) will be disinfected between each class using a fogger with eco friendly government certified disinfected. Each studio will be equipped with a fogger. 7. To comply with government limitations, the waiting area will be closed. Parents should drop off dancers. Our staff will be there to meet our youngest dancers ages 4 & up. Just like school. *Please note we are looking to add Tiny Tot classes at a time when we can accommodate parents waiting. 8. All families must sign our Covid waiver which clearly outlines conditions to attend. 9. All monthly dance payments will be paid on the 1st of each month either via credit card (visa or Master Card) or post dated cheques. Paying monthly at counter will no longer be an option.
