Calgary Stetson Show Band 27.01.2021

As we enter the early days of 2021 and what is now 10 months of the global pandemic brought on by COVID 19 we continue to live with uncertainties, challenges, and restrictions. The positive responses from Calgary Round-Up Band and Calgary Stetson Show Band membership have been encouraging and we would like to thank our members for their continued support. Our intention for February 2021 was to resume in-person learning with small cohort group rehearsals designed to provide ...a sense of community, develop skills, and celebrate the opportunity to possibly perform in the summer of 2021. Unfortunately, due to the reinstated provincial health orders, our relaunch plans will need to change and learning opportunities will be delayed. Our goal is to resume standard operations for our members with a purpose, meaning, and a sense of community in September 2021. At this time, we are happy to announce a series of weekend clinics for all interested youth in the months of May and June 2021. These clinic weekends will focus on in-person skill development, ensemble playing, and teamwork in a fun, safe, and engaging community setting. Registrations will commence in February 2021 and participation fees will be waived for all participating members who sign up and complete 3 Bingos in 2021. Check the website for more information in February 2021. We would thank all our members for their continued support of gaming requirements and the many bingo shifts they have been filled since the halls have re-opened in July. Without your support and commitment, the organizations would not be in such a strong position. COVID-19 has greatly impacted our community and presented many challenges. The commitment, compassion, and sense of community from our members is exemplarily and has afforded the bands the opportunity to weather the global pandemic. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you in Spring 2021! Mike Jewitt, Executive Director Calgary Round-Up Band & Calgary Stetson Show Band Jason Jahn, President - Calgary Round-Up Band Julie Ramsay, President - Calgary Stetson Show Band

Self-care can promote positive mental health and well-being, keep us grounded and reduce the effects of stress in our lives. This month, challenge yourself to complete as many self-care activities as you can. For each activity completed, fill in the talk bubble in that square. #BellLetsTalk

With many uncertainties and constraints currently in place surrounding mass gatherings, live music, and instrumental music the Calgary Stetson Show Band is officially delaying the start of their 2020-2021 seasons until January 2021. At this time Calgary Stetson Show Band would like to inform current and future members that participation in the 2020-2021 season is not co-dependent on participation in a school music program as a result of the constraints placed on our community by COVID-19. Upon our opening in 2021 we welcome all community youth who are interested in band and the marching arts.
