If you have had a new septic system installed between 2009 and now you HAVE an EFFLUENT FILTER and it MUST be cleaned yearly. We are getting so many calls latel...y about new systems backing up, and every time we ask if the filter has been cleaned the answer is no. It is SO IMPORTANT to clean your filter.
