One of my friends ran in to a spot of trouble this week when his vehicle was broken in to and all of his camera equipment was stolen. As I was the previous owner of the D810 that was stolen I was able to recover the serial number from an old image that I shot. This is the last image I ever shot with a D810, and comes from a morning at Abbotsford International Airshow where Coulson Aviation - Next Gen Firefighting was doing an early morning engine run on one of their C-130 tan...kers. The misty morning backdrop worked out well for this shot. And I do still love the way the D810 files look. If you're in Alberta, be on the lookout for abnormally cheap Nikon Gear. This year I had the good fortune to do a trip that has been on my bucket list for a long time, and honestly one I never thought I would get to cross off. I flew to Moscow, and attended MAKS 2019, and had an absolute blast. While MAKS is certainly a different show than any other, both because of the types you see and the fact that the show primarily exists to sell military hardware, there is plenty of reasons to attend from an air display perspective alone. Tail sliding flanke...rs, and statics that simply don't exist anywhere are highlights to make the week in Russia seem all too short. Anyone that has ever had dreams of ridiculous aerobatics by Sukhois and Migs absolutely needs to consider this as a must visit on your list of shows. But, fair warning, the show is heavily backlit from inside the grounds (the best photo locations for the flying display are not in the grounds), the static display, while amazing, is quite crowded with aircraft (you don't fully understand the scale of a TU-160 until you're trying to get a shot containing all of it), and the crowds in the grounds on show days are absolutely ridiculous.

Aviation Nation 2019 was a blast. Jets, Helicopters, Flares, Pyro, Vegassssssss. A good time was had.

Day/Airshow 22 for me was the Yeovilton Airshow 2017. I decided I wanted to spend 2 weeks in the UK, and this airshow was the weekend before Fairford. It Didn't disappoint, and the French brought this spectacularly painted Dassault Rafale M (the marine version) to the show. Day/Airshow 21 took me back to Barksdale Airforce Base in Shreveport, Louisiana. This show was interesting because it brought a fly by of the very rarely seen E-4B, the current "Nightwatch" aircraft. One of these is on standby 24/7 in case of emergency to act as an aerial command post.
