Well this is quite the Christmas present! I’m honoured to get the cover of @forecastski photo annual with this shot of @alxarmstrng @cartermak and @mr_mccraw up at @solmountainlodge last winter. I’ve had a close relationship with Sol, managing the lodge for four summers. During my last summer, we had a lightning strike start a forest fire a few kilometres from the lodge. It was a stressful night as the fire threatened our only road in and out but luckily a unit crew showe...d up the next day and had things under control in short order. After the fire was out, I went and explored the burn and knew it would make great skiing. It took an extra winter to get out there, but I’m really happy we finally went skiing there! Thanks to the athletes for their patience and skill in front of the lens, the Cooperman clan for their continued hospitality in their little slice of Monashee heaven, the crew at Forecast for continuing to publish my work, and everyone else for your support! Merry Christmas! See more

Last winter I was fortunate to spend a very inspiring day with @parashredder and @nadineoverwater out in the mountain. Michelle has a very powerful story, overcoming immense challenges and continuing to grow. Thanks for sharing your story, and a fun day out in the mountains. Check out the latest issue of @sleddermag for the article and photos. As a side note, snowmobiling has been quite the interesting adventure so far. What started as a tool to access skiing has grown int...o a something that I now enjoy as a sport on its own. Though I have a background in motorsports, sledding has by far been the most challenging. It’s also extremely rewarding, exploring remote areas that would be extremely difficult to access any other way. These are my first published photos of mountain sledding, but hopefully not my last! Now who wants to go ride? #sledding #sledrevelstoke See more

After the pandemic shut everything down last March, it left many of us reeling. My work season was cut short and I ended up having to cancel a few projects. Luckily, the good folks at Forecast Ski Magazine reached out to me and asked me to write an article for their ‘Piste Off’ section about my favourite place, Selkirk Snowcat Skiing. It was actually quite difficult to write the article. It’s a place rich in history, pioneered by Allan and Brenda Drury, and now managed by the... Osak family. I’ve been the staff photographer there for 8 seasons. It’s where I’ve honed my craft and been given the freedom to explore and create. To sum up the place in 1000 words was a daunting task that took me most of the summer and many re-writes to get it right. Thanks to Jeff Schmuck and Matt Coté for the support writing this article, and a big thanks to Brenda Drury, Paul and Megan Osak, the rest of the staff and all of the guests over the years! Check out issue 6.2 for the article and photos on the original cat skiing operation. See you on Meadow Mountain! See more
