If you've ever been through our market, you would have encountered the friendly faces of our vendors. Sadly on September 19, 2020, we lost one of our favorite smiles. https://vancouversunandprovince.remembering.ca//raymond-ri Ray Richardson (Ray's Clayworks), you will be missed at the Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market

Our season may look a little different this year but that won’t keep our vendors from growing, harvesting, baking and making! Shop BC Local Goods directly from our vendors! https://sfam.ca/connect-and-shop-with-sfam-vendors-2/

Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market 03.10.2020

It is with regret that we announce the cancellation of the Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market for 2020. On Tuesday, April 21, 2020 the Richmond Agricultural and Industrial Society and the Steveston Community Society, Board of Directors voted unanimously to cancel the 2020 Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market for 2020. The first Market was to begin on May 10th. According to Alan Sakai, the Richmond Agricultural and Industrial Society President and Chair of the Steveston F...armers Market Committee, "The decision was not an easy one as this will affect the many vendors, artists, staff and volunteers that make the market successful each year. In light of the current COVID-19 protocols required and put in place by BC Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, cancelling the market for this year was determined to be the most responsible decision at this time." This year would have been the 12th year the Market has operated in Steveston. It is run by a volunteer committee under the auspices of the Richmond Agricultural and Industrial Society and the Steveston Community Society. Many vendors and community members have come to appreciate the opportunity to meet, sell and purchase locally crafted and grown products at the Market each year. The Committee is currently exploring ways to support and connect the vendors with the community in other ways. We will miss the opportunity the Market offers to connect local farmers and artisans with the community, and would like to extend our many thanks to all the vendors, volunteers and community members that support the Market each year. We look forward to coming back next year and hope everyone stays safe.
