Our pet of the week is the lovable Lucy! She is a seven year old French Bulldog that came in to see us as her owners were concerned about her left eye. They noticed it may be irritating her as Lucy began squinting and tearing. We stained the eye to look for scratches and found she had a corneal ulcer. It's very important to get any eye concerns seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible! We sent Lucy home with some eye drops and pain medication and we hope her eye heals quick...ly! While she was here we also gave the Bordetella vaccination so she is all caught up on her vaccinations too, especially since there is an outbreak of Kennel Cough in the lower mainland right now! #vet #veterinary #veterinaryhospital #veterinaryclinic #veterinarian #stevestonvet #stevestonvethospital #steveston #richmond #richmondvet #richmondveterinarian #vetsofrichmond #dogs #dogsofrichmond #richmondbc #frenchies #frenchiesofig #frenchielovers #frenchbulldogs #frenchiesofvancouver #frenchiesofrichmond #kennelcough

We see this far too often.. Unsuspecting owners purchasing puppies from overseas through "brokers" who are just looking to make a quick sale.. Forged or incorrect documents, and no follow up available when things go wrong. https://www.cbc.ca//buyer-beware-ottawa-fails-to-track-tho

Freddie is an adorable, 9week old, Saint Bernard puppy who visited our clinic last week for a new puppy health check. He had a calm demeanor which is so characteristic of his breed. Saint Bernard's are known for their warm gentle temperament, which make them perfect for families with children. Their intelligence is what made them famous, as they would rescue people lost in the snow and avalanches. It is recommended that they be exercised and trained properly from a young age, as the last thing you want is a large dog that doesn’t understand the word no!
