So you may know I love the ocean and all things related! As soon as I learned about this Coastal Wolf I felt a connection to her and knew I had to draw her! Thi...s is my latest colour pencil work in progress. This majestic animal and her kind reside in packs on the west coast of Canada. These beautiful creatures are shy and elusive, living off a diet of mainly seafood including barnacles and muscles, they’re also incredible swimmers! Steve Woods Photography thank you for the reference photo of this wonderful animal, and inspiring me to draw her. If you want to see more photographs and footage of her and her pack, be sure to check out Steve’s page

So much fun photographing this flying floofball of death on a cold February afternoon. This first time I have been lucky enough to see a Northern Pygmy Owl with my buddy @alxcrzt - So cute, and so angry, these wonderful birds are incredibly deadly to songbirds and rodents. Not the archetypal idea of a bird of prey, but an incredibly fierce hunter nonetheless. Maybe the epitome of an Angry Bird? What do you guys think? Cute and fluffy? Or cold and deadly? Let me know below! #...best_birds_of_ig #sharecangeo #stevewoods #canda #pygmyowl #your_best_birds #exclusive_animal #nature_brilliance #animalbestshots_member #bird_brilliance #exclusive_wildlife #igworld_nature #animals_in_world #wildlifeowners #photoarena_nature #exclusive_bird #global4nature #eye_spy_birds #animalelite #bestnatureshots #canon #igscwildlife #nature_sultans #ig_discover_birdslife #instanaturefriends_ #bns_birds #animal_sultans #yourshotphotographer #Audubon See more

Boiling seas and full of life beneath the waves. The oceans are absolutely full of wonder if you care to take the time and have a peak underwater. I’m so lucky to have been able to witness so many incredible things under the surface of the once and feel a responsibility to try and publicise their wondrous nature as well as the difficulties they encounter, largely because of human activity.

A stunning female oceanic Blacktip shark bursts through a school of baitfish. We were actually photographing Tiger sharks on this day which need a lot of attention. There were 5 circling us and 1 especially large female. They will sneak up behind you, so you have to always keep your awareness high. One of the most interesting effects of this was seeing that these female blacktips seemed to feel shunned by us and kept swimming straight at us in order to get our attention. Very interesting to see how animals behaviour is affected by our behaviour, it clearly shows them at there is a deeper connection that we need to learn about abs understand.

One of my favourite moments from last year. Somehow getting 30 sea lions to line up nicely behind @maxwelhohn for a photograph. These guys are the epitome of fun underwater. No agenda, they just want to have fun and seek your attention. It’s very humbling when stuff like that happens in the animal world. Reminds you that we are all sentient beings that seek love, safety and interaction.

Has been a difficult and crazy year for many people 2020. Very thankful that we are at the end of it and moving into 2021. I hope all the people who have found this one harder than me have some respite and a positive 2021. I’m very fortunate to have survived and been able to give back in a small way. I’m also very thankful to have had the support of all of you, inspires me to move forward with passion for photography and the natural world next year. Happy New Year to everyone and I wish you all the best going forward!

Do you want to help? After the huge but nail biting success of the @sharkguardian Finspire Change petition earlier this year we now need YOU to send your local MP a tweet, an email or a letter/postcard to encourage them to vote the right way when they debate closing the loophole that allows people to import 20kg of shark fin into the UK. You MUST be a UK citizen in order to do this so pls share with your friends and family who are or who know UK citizens. Shark Guardian have set up a page (link in bio) so that it is incredibly easy to do all of this at the click of a button. Go and do it now and make this the first a achievement of 2021! Let’s start this year on a good note.

Stoked to have been able to contribute to @maxwelhohn and @seaprooftv’s little docco Call of the Coastal Wolf. So here it is, check it out and let us know what you think! This wildlife mini documentary follows the daily life of one wolf pack as they fight to survive along the wild west coast of Canada.... Some of the most secluded beaches of British Columbia are home to a unique wolf species that has evolved to gather their sustenance from both land and sea. Be sure to support: @sealegacy and @raincoastconservation Book an adventure with: @seaforthexpeditions Thank you to: @paulnicklen, @johnkelseyphoto, @dolfvermeulen #callofthecoastalwolves #documentary #britishcolumbia #coastalwolf #protectbcwolves #canada #wildlife #nature #ourbeautifulplanet #maxwelhohn #stevewoods #russellclark #wolf #conservation
