Something new from the Ennis Sisters!
All these performers have been on the Stewart Park Festival stage. Check out the unveiling at 9.
Lloyd was scheduled to play at Stewart Park this year. I was really looking forward to his set. Hopefully next year!
Red Fox performing at the Wine Bar last year.
It was so hot last year! Looks like this weekend is shaping up the same. Thankfully we have the jewel that is Stewart Park. Here is how some young folks got cooled off last year.
I was strolling through the park today when a group of folks called me over. They proceeded to tell me they were having a special picnic in honour of the festival. They come every year for the weekend and didn't want to miss this year. Sandwiches had been picked up from Fieldhouse and they were relaxing and planning to play some music together honouring Laura Smith. The park was idyllic. We had a nice chat and they shared some watermelon with me. They told me they had coined the term "Perfect Little Festival " for SPF. We sure appreciate that and like them too! Here is a short video of them playing a little tune.
Remembering Wendy. Post your memories about Stewart Park Festival.
Remembering the opening of the 2010 festival.
Since we can't gather in Stewart Park for the festival this year, how about you post a favourite memory or photo from a previous year? We'd love to see them. For me, this was one of my favourite memories, when we finally got three of the Artistic Directors backstage at the same time. Carolyn Sutherland, Joel W. LeBlanc and me! James P Keelaghan.
You know, about a year ago, or a thousand Covid years, we were just getting ready for the Stewart Park festival. It was hot, but the music was going to be hotter. Though we can’t gather in the park this year, we hope that you raise your voice in song or play a tune in your own back yard.
Learn more about Stewart Park Artistic Director James Kellaghan in this post about an online reading he did. Great stuff. Tune in daily for live readings of the PEI classic.
The love was palpable when Coco Love Alcorn was on the Stewart Park stage. This video of her song Tiny Lights shows why. A touching and beautiful rendition of her song.
Ken Yates mesmerized us at Stewart Park with his gentle playing and excellent songwriting. Here he is with a new song. We can dream we are watching in the park.
