We’re sending out a very special birthday greeting to Sr. Margaret MacDonell, CND, who is celebrating her 100th birthday on Dec. 13! Sister Margaret, of the C...ongregation of Notre Dame, is a professor emerita at StFX, and is formerly head of the Department of Celtic Studies at StFX. She is a Gaelic speaker originally from Judique, Cape Breton. She holds a PhD in Celtic Languages and Literatures from Harvard University, and has been a lifelong supporter of Gaelic culture. Sister Margaret received her degree from StFX in 1954 and an honorary degree in 2000. She is also the sister of former StFX President Fr Malcolm MacDonell (1970-1978.) They hail from St. Ninian, near Judique, Inverness County, Cape Breton. Please join us in wishing Sr. Margaret a very happy birthday on December 13th!
