Community Fence of Fame at The Sandlot Established 2020

When we first developed the idea of The Sandlot, we did so on that premise that it would truly be a community field. An area where anyone could come and play, n...o matter their abilities, experience or circumstances. Now that the field is built, we wanted to take the community idea a step further. Since Antigonish does not have a Sports Hall of Fame, we wanted to create our own at The Sandlot. The Community Fence of Fame, which will be displayed on the outfield fencing, will acknowledge individuals and/or groups who have made a difference in the community through sport and/or physical activity. In future years, we plan on developing an official election/decision process but, this year, our decision was extremely easy. It gives me great pleasure to announce that, in 2020, we will be inducting DWAYNE RUSSELL and OLIVER SMITH as the inaugural members of the Community Fence of Fame.
