These are two (of the 11 kittens we got two weeks ago) in their new home. They were "missing" in the house yesterday and, after frantically looking everywhere, their new mama finally found them here taking a nap with a plant.

There are laws regarding how long a dog can be tied up outside in NB. If you know of a dog that is tethered all the time and/or outside overnight, please report to the NBSPCA.

Great information that a lot of people don't know. If you see a service dog approach you without a person, follow it! Someone needs help.

Came across this great x-ray and wanted to share! A six-month-old golden retriever was brought to a barbecue. The owners were convinced the dog hadn’t eaten anything..... 782 stones removed! Remember - dogs will eat anything!

Great idea for a bird feeder this time of year!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 20.09.2020

Five kittens were dropped at the clinic yesterday after being found in a garage cold and hungry. This little one in the middle was close to dying - barely moving, his body temperature so low it wouldn't read on a thermometer, making a few pitiful cries, and unable to swallow any milk. As hopeless as it seemed, we still tried to save him. The next two hours were spent heating him up, rubbing corn syrup on his lips, and slowly trying to feed him kitten milk, drop by drop. And, of course, lots of TLC. And he made it!!!

The St. George Animal Shelter always appreciates donations to help with the cost of care for over 300 kittens and cats that have been surrendered this year. Please help if you can. And PLEASE spay/neuter your pets!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 06.08.2020

As Christmas approaches, please remember that pets should not be given as gifts to anyone who is not responsible enough to care for an animal for its entire life!!!

Here are two ways to help the St. George Animal Shelter raise money. It's as easy as voting and visiting a website!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 07.04.2020

Dolly has been adopted!!! I'm extremely grateful to her foster mom, Dawn Jesso, for giving her a temporary home so she could learn to socialize, to trust people again and feel what it's like to be loved immensely. And so thankful to her new family for giving her the chance that she deserves to finally be part of a family that adores her.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 23.03.2020

This little one didn't pass the service dog testing, but something tells me he'd be great at agility!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 18.03.2020

So far this year the St. George Animal Shelter has taken in 286 cats and kittens! The shelter can always use some extra help, whether with a donation or volunteers to foster. If you'd like to help, please send an email or e-transfer to: [email protected].

St. George Veterinary Clinic 08.03.2020

Dolly still needs a forever home! Her foster mom says she's doing well - getting more socialized, loves going for walks and exercising - but, more than anything, she just wants to be around the person she loves. She's like a giant lap dog. If you'd like to set up a time to meet Dolly at her foster home, contact Dr. Eagan at the clinic.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 29.02.2020

From homeless street dog to beloved pet. Adoption may not change the world, but it can change the world of that animal.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 20.02.2020

Dolly is now in a foster home in Saint John and doing great! She's learning to trust more people and has even learned to like a few men. She is a complete love bug with the people she adores. Her foster family loves her dearly but cannot keep her permanently as there are 7 cats in the house that Dolly loves to chase (stressing them out tremendously). Her foster family will continue, for now, to care for her but she is still looking for a forever home. If you are interested in meeting Dolly, her foster mom has agreed to have people meet her at her home. Contact Dr. Eagan at the vet clinic to set up an appointment.

What a great idea! (or maybe a little creepy)

St. George Veterinary Clinic 07.01.2020

Sweet Dolly was spayed today. She is slowly recovering all snuggled up on her new bed. In the time she has been with us, she has had a few visits by interested adopters, but we quickly realized that she has a significant fear aggression towards men. Although she warms up to women quickly, she is very agitated when she sees a man. She barks and growls at them, and trembles with fear. I believe that with time and patience, and with the right person, this is something that can improve. However, time may not be on her side. During her spay surgery, tumors were found on her spleen. A biopsy was taken and will be sent away for a histopathology report to see if it is cancer. In the meantime, she will continue to stay with us so she can get all the love and attention she deserves.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 03.01.2020

Many thanks to Bill Barrio for decorating our front steps for Fall - we love it!

She loves that giant ball!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 02.12.2019

I have had numerous calls about the sheep and goats that are loose in Back Bay. They do not belong to us! I'm not sure who the owner is, but it would be nice if the owner brought them home!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 23.11.2019

Thank you to Stella for collecting donations for the St. George Animal Shelter at her birthday party! All the animals will be so happy to see the food, treats and toys!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 10.11.2019

Dolly is having a little run around the yard, chasing the ball (even after I made a really lame throw into the bushes) and just enjoying life!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 24.10.2019

Where should you put your old mask? In the garbage. Where NOT to put your old mask? Out your car window, in the ditch, on the side of the road, into waterways. It's not complicated to be a responsible human being.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 21.10.2019

**Update** Nobody has claimed this lovely boy. He will be up for adoption from the St. George Animal Shelter as of Monday. He'll get his vaccines, microchip, flea treatment, and deworming. Male neutered cat found on the side of the road in Bonny River yesterday. He was a bit unstable yesterday, so may have had an accident. Today he seems back to normal, eating well, and using the litter pan. If he is not claimed, he will be put up for adoption through the St. George Animal Shelter.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 09.10.2019

**Update** Dolly (her new name) has still not been claimed, and is still at the clinic for now. If we cannot find a home for her soon, she will be taken to the Moncton SPCA shelter. She is a big girl, approximately 85 lbs and seems to be a lab/rottie mix. I guesstimate she's around 5 years old. She's fearful of strangers and barks (loudly) when someone new passes by, but once she gets to know you she's a real sweetheart. She loves running around in the yard, fetching a b...all, chasing sticks., and getting her back scratched. I think she is the type of dog to guard her family and home, but would not necessarily trust her around young children. A fenced in yard would be best as she likes to run. She does come when called in the backyard, but not sure if she would still come if out running loose. She hasn't reacted to the clinic cat, and sometimes barks if a another dog walks by. We don't know a lot about her, but would like to give her a chance at finding a home of her own. Her "adoption" fee is $250 (relatively low) - this will cover the cost of her vaccines, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip. She will be checked this week to make sure she is spayed before moving on to (hopefully) a new home. If interested, contact Dr. Eagan at the clinic or send a message on our Facebook page. This dog had been hanging around Simpson Court in St. George for the past 3 weeks. The SPCA was finally called and brought the dog to us. No microchip. "Cuddy" was written on her collar. Does anyone know the owner? She has calmed down since first arriving, and is now quite friendly, appears to be older. If anyone has any information regarding this dog, you can contact the NBSPCA or send a message to the clinic.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 22.09.2019

**Update** Owners found! Thanks for sharing! Two dogs found in St. Andrews. If you know the owner, contact Monica Finley @ 529-4400 - she has them at her house.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 25.05.2019

An incident of human contact with a raccoon that tested positive for rabies is confirmed in Charlotte County. Two children were in contact with a raccoon that was acting abnormally docile. The exposed individuals have been treated appropriately. Anyone that has direct contact with a bat or a suspected rabid animal in the form of a touch, bite or scratch should contact Tele-care 811 immediately. If you suspect your pet had contact with a rabies infected wild animal, please contact your local veterinarian for proper advice and follow up. Pet owners should ensure their pets are kept up to date on their rabies vaccination.

There are still a few boxes of donuts that haven't been picked up from the clinic. At this stage, they might make a better door-stop than snack, but they're still here! If no one picks up the remaining donuts by the end of the week, they will be given to my chickens for a snack.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 24.04.2019

Here is the link to see all of the animals up for adoption from the St. George Animal Shelter! And the link for adoption applications! The shelter has over 60 cats and kittens looking for homes right now, with more being dropped off every week. We are always looking for foster homes to temporarily take care of cats and kittens until they find a forever home. If interested, contact the St. George Animal Shelter through the FB page or email [email protected]. Thanks everyone!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 10.04.2019

These 4 little gremlins were found as strays outside and surrendered to the shelter. They're approximately 7 weeks old and really starting to come out of their shells - running around and playing. We're looking for a foster home to give them some TLC until they can be adopted. Contact the St. George Animal Shelter if you are interested in fostering!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 06.04.2019

Pub kittens! Three kittens were humanely trapped after being discovered living under the pub on main street (there is still one more to catch). They are skittish, but will let you pet them. They need a foster home to help them learn to trust. They are approximately 8 weeks old.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 03.04.2019

St. George Animal Shelter really needs more foster homes! If you would like to help out and foster some of our homeless cats and kittens, please contact [email protected] or message the shelter's Facebook page. This guy is almost a year old, was just neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He's looking for a forever home!

St. George Veterinary Clinic 25.03.2019

**Update** Thanks for the offers of help. Unfortunately, this little one passed away during the night. Anyone headed to Saint John on Monday? This little guy is looking for a ride! He's stable but may have a broken wing. We'd like to transport him to Fairvale Animal Hospital (where he can get picked up and transported to the Atlantic Wildlife Institute near Sackville, NB.)

St. George Veterinary Clinic 05.03.2019

This is very distressing. A few weeks ago, this tiny bear cub was seized from Hope for Wildlife by the Department of Lands and Forestry, and destroyed. Why? Because Nova Scotia does not allow the rehabilitation of bears - the only province in Canada that does not. If you would like to support Hope and her team in their fight to get approval to rehabilitate bears, please contact the NS premier to voice your opinion at [email protected].

St. George Veterinary Clinic 18.02.2019

The ultimate catio! If you don't want your cats to roam free outside, a catio is a great idea to keep them safe but still allow them to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 31.01.2019

This handsome boy - I call him "Willy" - came to us as a Carma cat and was going to be released back outside after getting neutered. He turned out to have such a loving personality, we decided to keep him and try to find him a home through the animal shelter. He is around 2 years old with a few scars, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has had a flea treatment and deworming. His adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in adopting Willy, please contact us or the St. George Animal Shelter.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 23.01.2019

**UPDATE** The horse is home!!! Thanks to everyone for sharing and passing on information, and to the "horse wranglers" (Tiffany) that took the time to catch him and bring him home! Is anyone missing a horse in Back Bay? There is a horse near the firehall, running loose! Last update was that he rushed down the trail by the firehall heading towards Mascarene.

This little guy is with Paw & Order in Fredericton, looking for a forever home. Contact them on Facebook if you'd like more information about him.

St. George Veterinary Clinic 19.01.2019

Klinger, our long-haired clinic cat, came to me as a kitten from an SPCA raid. He was very sick and was scheduled to be euthanized. I couldn't bear to do it and took him home with me instead to see if I could nurse him back to health. And he pulled through with flying colours. He grew into the most friendly and loving cat, and became a favourite of clients at the clinic. If someone was upset, he would stroll over, jump on their lap, and just snuggle up - like he knew that pe...rson needed comfort. He was a great "foster dad" to some of the kittens that have come through our doors - cuddling the little ones and giving them a bath. He was just a great cat. Period. Over the past two days he began to have uncontrollable seizures and nothing was helping. This morning it was time to say goodbye - his body was giving up. And so with heavy hearts we said farewell to the best darn cat in the world. He'll be a tough act to follow. See more
