Koko Colour Pencil on Pastelmat I am honoured to have been able to create this portrait of Koko who sadly passed away while I was working on it. Koko was sassy, accomplished mare who was cherish by her person and loved all who knew her.

After finishing all my commissions and hours and hours of practice and watching tutorial videos, (credit: Bonny Snowdon Fine Art - Pet and Equine Artist), I dec...ided to revisit my first attempt at a colour pencil drawing I did about a month ago. Painting is fearless for me but colour pencil taught me to slow down, plan everything and really think about layers and how colours work together. Things that came naturally to me when I painted suddenly took hours of planning and patients. I'm almost embarrassed by the first image because it is not up to my usual standards but am posting it for anyone who feels like they can't do it, whatever it is. Don't give up - talent is only a small part or a much bigger picture and skills can be learned. Petty sure I'm getting there but still so much to learn. See more
