Last weekend’s Local Harvest Traditions talk featured Resurfacing History facilitator, Leona Brown of the Gitxsan nation. Leona spoke of the empowerment of regaining access to her culture and traditional knowledge through the Resurfacing History program. It was so special to come together for some live music in the Colour Me Local Dye Garden this past Wednesday! The event featured Andromeda Monk on bass clarinet and Adrian Avendano on percussion. Looking for a fun and simple activity to do with friends and family? We are hosting a glass jar lantern workshop on Monday, September 14th as part of the Moon Festival. Jar lanterns are a popular item to light and carry at our annual festival, and you can do the same this year at our various evening events. Come decorate and take home your own for $12! Lantern making will be led by local artist Yoko Tomita. The workshop will take place indoors at the Collingwood Neighbourhood House Annex inside a large room with a limited capacity.
