Jax update!! Guys!!! This dude got HOOKED UP with a brand new set of wheels thanks to a wonderful donation from Gunnar's wheels - an amazing non-profit organi...zation helping handicapped pets! Special thank you to those who connected me with this organization and for Lana McLeaming for paying it forward. Jax received an overwhelming amount of support - so many of you offered to donate to his cause and improve his quality of life. People offered wheelchairs, assistive devices and even offered financial donations should we have set up a go fund me for him. After such a brutal year for everyone, the kindness and generosity was appreciated more then ever. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’m blown away by how fast Jax has gotten accustomed to his new wheels! He’s using his back legs more then I would have thought possible and has even been chasing the geese around at the park. Go Jax, go!!! Chantel Pereira Doggy Friends! This handsome dude is my buddy "Jax" and he is a GOOD boy! He came to me a few weeks ago because of hind-end strength and mobility impairments that have gradually gotten worse over the last 6 months. Jax has made minimal improvement with chiropractic care to date and I have come to the clinical assumption that his condition is very likely due to an autoimmune disease known as Degenerative Myelopathy, of which there is treatment or cure. This disease is a chronic, progressive disease of the spinal cord that causes irreversible hind limb weakness and paralysis. Jax is a very happy dog and is otherwise a healthy guy. I believe his quality of life (and his owners) would be greatly enhanced with the help of a wheelchair. With the holidays coming, I am putting it out there to see if anyone has a used wheelchair that they would be willing to donate to Jax so that he can motor on and keep living his best life. Please spread the word for Jax! He is approximately 75lbs. Thanks everyone! Dr. T

He did it! My co-pilot, Briggs survived his inaugural Northern Ontario road trip as my little sidekick. He was such a rockstar at 4.5 months old - 10 days, countless hours on the road, multiple hotels, air bnb's, random feedings, and his first taste of snow! He even made some friends along the way ! Cant wait for all the road trip adventures we will have together! Go Briggsy, go! ..... If only my car faired as well... ... Great seeing everyone up north! Be safe, see you in the spring! Dr. T

Quick Nerd Alert This very handsome senior gelding has suspected peripheral nerve compression/irritation to the nerves supplying his left hind leg. Gait analysis, manual palpation and neurological testing - along with a work up with his veterinarian - suggest that this dude likely has some 'pins and needles/numbness" in the left hind along with weakness to the muscles from nerve compression higher up in his spine/pelvis. He has done very well with a trial of chiropractic... adjustments, myofascial therapy and rehabilitative exercises. The goal being to help remind his brain/spinal cord that he still has a left hind leg, to decompress nerve compression and to also stregnthen the muscles in his hind end. This fancy #equitape application is a proprioceptive taping application to help stimulate the receptors in his skin to remind his brain where that left hind is in space. The black tape on his coronet band is also attempting to receive a little bit of neurological attention to the foot. Animals get pain, numbness, tingling and weakness too! Sometimes it takes a trained eye to spot it, but if you pay attention they wont keep secrets. Dr. T
