She needs an operation in the states. The hunting community has rallied together to start a private Facebook auction group as a fund raiser. December 1, 2020: An important day for the @fraseralliance and the public fishery. 6 Anglers showed up at court to address fishery violation tickets from @fishe...riesoceanscan that were given out Sept 9, 2020 during a Demonstration Fishery. The purpose of this Demonstration was to voice the concerns of many, demonstrate selective bar fishing techniques that avoid sockeye - a species of concern - and to document all species caught during the day’s event in order to show selective fishing is a real solution in avoiding species of concern. @fisheriesoceanscan responded by issuing tickets instead of an open door to discuss the concerns over alarming declines in a hugely important local fishery. On Dec 1, 2020, an organized group of Anglers and Fishing Guides wanted to show their support to the ticketed individuals, that were themselves, supporting the efforts of the @fraseralliance that challenge Senior @fisheriesoceanscan officials in their decisions and approach to working with the public fishery. A parade of 6 boats and trucks with signage did a 6 lap drive by in support and solidarity for the wrongfully charged Anglers. It was a beautiful sunny day in Chilliwack with lots of viewing audience. The support for this effort was loud and clear from the public; screaming support, honking horns, arms up in the air, cheering right along with members of the @fraseralliance and @fraservalleysalmon. If was powerful. The @chilliwack_progress was also there to record the action. The Anglers in the courtroom could hear the honking and witnessed the drive by. There was a tremendous emotional appreciation for the efforts given in backing them up. A commitment to elevate this support for the next opportunity on Jan 5, 2021 has been made. We plan to organize again, bigger and stronger. Thanks to all that helped.
