What started over a conversation well over a year ago, the end product is finally here. We are so delighted to have collaborated with @barnsidebrewing on this coffee and rye lager. It is so good! The drawing is actually from an old photo of Johnny’s drawn out from one of our talented past employees, @jessie.donaldson As most coffee beers are dark, we decided on using a lighter roasted coffee (Epic Espresso) from our coffee roaster @49th Head out to Barnside and get yourself... one of these beers! . . #Repost @barnsidebrewing with @get_repost BEER RELEASE: Help us celebrate a Ladner institution with the release of Johnny's Corner Coffee & Rye Lager - the fourth release in our HERITAGE SERIES. 100lbs of 49th Parallel Coffee's Epic Espresso helped create a crisp, creamy coffee-infused rye lager with notes of toffee, cinnamon and spice. ABV 5.5% Available starting tomorrow at the Brewery and in select stores. #ladnerisawesome #exploredelta #explorebc #welovedelta #bccraftbeer #bccraftbreweries #bcaaletrail #craftbeerbc #bcagriculture #buybc #farmbrewery #farmfreshbeer #coffeebeer

We made it. We are almost through 2020. We’ll be closed New Year’s Day, open on the 2nd, and closed on Sunday. Then it’ll be back to regular hours on Monday. I think we speak for all of the small businesses in our lovely community, that we are especially grateful for your support through this roller coaster of a year. We have all had to pivot our business models to survive the challenges we endured through this year. But with patience, understanding, kindness, and a positi...ve attitude we made the most out of what we were able to. We are eternally grateful to our community. As we all say farewell to 2020, we look forward to 2021 and wish nothing but health, love, and kindness to all. and from the Stir Family. . . #ladnerisawesome #coffeefamily #locallove #shoplocal #bekindbecalmbesafe

This is a bit of a loaded post, so bear with us. . . The good news! We have rolled out our Holiday drinks earlier this year! Egg Nog Latte’s... Mint Mocha’s Holiday Spice Latte’s . . Not so great news. 2020 has been such a rollercoaster of emotions and also taxing on our mental and physical health. But what has kept us going is the support from our community and of each other. As we are in the middle of a two week social interaction lockdown, we will be reducing our hours slightly Monday to Friday, which will now be 7am - 4:30pm. Saturday’s are still the same, 8am - 4pm. These may change again. Although we continue to adhere to our enhanced health and sanitization protocols, we are continuing as a take out service. We wholeheartedly thank all of our customers that continue to support our business. As we get closer to the holidays, we ask that you please continue to support your local small businesses during this challenging time. See more

With no Remembrance Day ceremony this year, please take a moment to remember those that made the sacrifice for our freedoms. Uncle Dave was one of the very few Chinese Canadians enlisted in the Canadian Army in World War II. Their contributions to the war finally allowed Chinese Canadians the opportunities and rights of other Canadians, such as citizenship and the right to vote. Thank you Uncle Dave. . . We will be open for reduced hours today, from 9:00am to 3:30pm.

SUPPORT YOUR VETERANS AND YOUR LEGION. . . The pandemic has altered many ways we are used to doing, but remembering those that fought for our freedom hasn’t. Poppies are available here at our shop behind our glass barrier to limit the amount of contact in the poppy tray. Ask for a poppy, hand us your donation, and we’ll safely give you a poppy. Poppy sales support veterans and their families. This year is especially difficult as our local Legion has lost three cadet squadrons to take part in the poppy drive. There are also only so many volunteers to help the Legion with their collection boxes outside stores. You can also make online donations to the legions at legion.ca/donations or visiting our local Ladner Legion.

National Aboriginal Veterans Day, let us remember the First Nations, Métis and Inuit people of Canada that served and continue to serve. The First Nations people served an integral role in the First and Second World War and the Korean War with valuable skills ranging from patience, stealthiness, marksmanship, and even as code talkers. These determined volunteers were often faced with challenges of learning a new language and adapting to cultural differences. Indigenous service members would receive numerous decorations for bravery. Thank you. We would also like to acknowledge the land we live and work on is the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, specifically the Tsawwassen and Musqueam First Nations.
