Happy International Clinical Trials Day! The Stiris team members are all in this industry for the same reason - to improve the lives of others. More now than ever, the world is understanding the importance of clinical trials. Here are some messages from our clinical trial family to yours:

On International Nurses Day, and Florence Nightingale’s 200th birthday, the Stiris team is fortunate to have the wonderful Amanda Clark-Carrera RN and our VP. We asked Amanda how she ended up on her career trajectory: Honestly, I wanted to do something in the science field, and I wanted to help people, so I decided on nursing. I was working in a dermatology clinic and one of the physicians asked me if I was interested in doing something different and working on a new treatme...nt for Psoriatic Arthritis. I said sure, and the rest is history. I wasn’t a ‘bedside’ nurse anymore, but I loved being able to interface with patients still. I was able to use many of my skills, see patients get better, and make a difference. It was very rewarding and almost twenty-five years later, I am still in clinical research and love that I still get to use my nursing knowledge when reviewing study protocols. The Stiris Team has enjoyed volunteering to make meals at our local Ronald McDonald House (RMH), and we are thinking of the families and teams working through the COVID-19 situation. The RMH team is still accommodating residents of very sick children, but volunteers are unable to visit. The staff are doing a wonderful job to fill this gap, but they need our help. The team at Stiris has a lot in common. One of those things is that WE LOVE OUR PETS! Now that we are all working remotely, we have a lot more time with our furry (and fin-y) friends.
