During these COVID-19 times, it is tough for everyone in so many different types of ways. For us to maintain strong mental and physical strength, it may be tough sometimes, but we have to keep strong in both of those aspects. Think of ourselves like this: We are like vehicle. If our vehicle sits in the same spot for a prolonged amount of time, a lot of negative things can happen to it. Similarly, our bodies are the same. ... -Leave a car sitting in the same spot for a while, and the tires will deflate. Being stuck in home, or feeling segregated can make us think that we can only sit around and be inactive because the gym is closed. -Don't drive a car for a few days, and the vehicle battery will not be as strong, or the car may not be able to start at all. Our bodies can be viewed almost the same. If we don't get up and move around, our strength (muscles and respiratory system) will likely weaken. -Lack of maintenance because not being used as much. A car is meant to be used and is supposed to be driven around frequently. WE are all meant to be moving as well. -Think of yourself like a high performance car. The higher performance the vehicle, the higher the maintenance is. Suddenly going from high performance to almost zero to little performance, is not what the car was designed for, and neither are we. If you want your car to stay high performance, you have to drive it the same way. So for us to do that in the absence of a gym, it is possible, one just has to train in a different way. There are many great home workouts online, just google it. Once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, and things start to open again, we will all be able to return to regular life, and can give ourselves our normal routines again. Until then, stay safe and healthy. Let me know if you want to know some good home workouts.

Some days, you gotta do something like this. ***Just a reminder, with COVID-19, all public water fountains are closed. If you decide to work out outdoors, make sure to bring your own water or other form of hydration *** Take care through this tough time. We are all in this together.

Hello to everyone, With this COVID-19 virus causing so many changes in the way we all live our lives, we have to all stay strong. Being laid off cannot be easy for anyone, and if you are fortunate to still be able to work, consider yourself very fortunate. Not only losing income effects us, but also having everything around us almost closed (or have significantly apparent changes in how they conduct their business) are shocks to all of us. Social distancing is among somethi...ng that in my lifetime, I have never been faced with (that is 27 years). Social distancing is definitely a challenge and changes the way in we all interact with each other. I am sure that a lot of us have become extremely stressed/saddened/frustrated, or any other type of feeling similar to those mentioned. We need to try and see the positive, that is spending time with your family (if possible)...I recently had to leave my residence because a family member returned to Canada from being overseas, so I am living somewhere else for approximately 14 days, so that they can self-isolate. This experience is stressful, and the first day I had a hurricane of emotions running through me, mostly frustration for having to leave my home. A few days later, I realized that once I got settled in to my new temporary residence, it is not so bad, and it is for the best. With all the gym chains closed, home workouts (if you don't have a home gym) are really important now. You can youtube home workouts for a range of workouts. Think about things that you can use, for example: 1. Fill a suitcase with items that can add weight to it (make sure you do not rip your bag though), you can replicate many exercises like this 2. Use your bed/couch to do decline/incline push-ups 3. Just your own body weight for exercises 4. If you have any of exercise bands or skipping ropes, now is your time to use them Don't worry about the differences in the way you have to train. It is an adaptation that we all have to live with. Once all the gyms open up again, you will get back to your regular workout routine Remember to keep your body strong, and if you are feeling like sad/frustrated about this global situation, try using exercise instead of drinking using any type of other substance...exercise will always make you feel better after, the other alternatives don't really help you in the long run and are not always the healthiest ways of dealing with stress. Stay strong everyone, physically and mentally. Yours in health and positivity, Alex

Super functional piece of equipment: Tank M4. Use it for pushing weights, or even pulling them. At each end of the M4, there are places to attach a rope. Great tool! Check it out if you are able!
