Tomorrow's Adoration times have been extended! You are now welcome to spend some time in prayer with Jesus from 11:30-3pm Please remember that we can only have 10 people in the building, so you may have to wait outside for a short time. Additionally, the doors will still remain closed once Benediction starts at 2:55pm. See you on Sunday!

Day 3 of "How is already almost Lent?!" During Lent we're not ONLY supposed to fast, and add prayer, but also participate in almsgiving. Below is a video on some ideas on how to give alms this Lent! What IS almsgiving you ask? The Catechism defines almsgiving as: providing for the material needs of the Church according to their ability. Often almsgiving is thought to include monetary donations, but this is not the only way to give alms! You can also give alms by praying for... people and caring for them Some of these ideas will need to be adapted to covid-safe times (i.e. bringing food to a neighbour). What is "Secret Santa for Lent"? Give gifts spontaneously (which you can do by online shopping so long as you know their address) to your friends/family who might need a pick-me-up during a difficult Lenten season. You can find resources on hosting a Lenten Baby Shower (and donating all the gifts to a women's shelter in need) here: https://beaheart.com/blogs/blog/throw-a-baby-shower-for-mary Find more info about good Samaritan bags and other ideas about almsgiving this lent here: https://media.ascensionpress.com//20-out-of-the-box-thing/

This is our Susy - she is the rectory housekeeper, and has been for 30 years!! Congratulations Susy, and thank you for your continued faithful service, your gentle kindness and your humble witness to loving others so beautifully. It is in the simplicity of your ordinary work, in the monotonous details of each day, that you have to find the secret, which is hidden from so many, of something great and new: Love. Father Marc-André has some updates about the new restrictions here in Durham, and how they might affect the way we worship. He also addresses how difficult this decision was for the Cardinal and the Premier, and how we can continue to maintain our Christian love and obedience during this difficult time. If you have any questions have not been answered in this video, please comment below! You can be assured of our prayers during this time, whether you come to worship with us in person or virtually.

This Sunday Father Neil shared the inspiring story of Immaculée Illibagiza, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide, and her kindness in the face of those who murdered her family. What stuck out to you this week? Something from Father Neil’s homily? The psalm, a reading or the Gospel? Let us know in the comments below!!!
