Hello everyone, as you know Stitches and Seams is now closed. I had 9 great years sewing for many, many wonderful clients, even made new friends, many. Now I am starting a new phase in my life and I would like to sell my well established business. I would really like to sell it altogether because I have everything you need to start a business, all you need is an area in your home to set it up. I never got a place in town because I had the room in my basement and I was able...Continue reading
Stitches and Seams is closed. Thanks for your business through the last eight years.
Stitches & Seams will be closing in the very near future.
To all my amazing customers..please know that I am taking a long leave of absence until September. I thank you for your understanding.
One more week and I will be temporarily closing my business for three months. The health of my mother and myself has been going down hill for a while and I need to take care of myself and be available for my family if need be. Any projects I am currently working on will be finished, however I won't be taking on any new ones until further notice. I really appreciate everyone's understanding and I will post at the end of the summer to update the status of Stitches and Seams.
I love sewing but with all the other things I have to do and my mother suffering with advanced Alzheimer's, I find it very hard on my health to continue at this pace. Plus, as much as I hate to mention it, my age is creeping up on me. I have decided to take off the summer months, June, July and August. of course any prearranged items I am committed to will still be done. After this time, I will see how I feel about commencing my business. I will publish my decision on this Face Book page.
This is just an advance notice, Stitches and Seams will be closed for the week of March Break.
Stitches & Seams will be closed for the holiday period, December 22 to January 8, opening January 9, 2018
Some thing I completed a few weeks ago, a window valance and two valances for the shower and tub. Basically they are all the same, except for the way they are hung up.
So I get a call from a long distance number yesterday, and usually I don't answer a number that I am not familiar with, but I was really, really busy and instead of listening to ring for 2 minutes, I answer it. The very nice gentleman on the line asks me if I could sew a couple of A's on his son's hockey jerseys, which of course I can do, so I ask him when he would like to come. So we arrange a time for him to come. I give him my address to put on his gps and I tell him ju...st call if you get lost and he agrees to this. So about one hour later he calls me back and says he can't bring up my address on the gps, now you would have thought by now there was something not quite right about this call, but neither one of us clued in. So a couple of hours later he calls me back and it turns out this gentleman is in Prince Edward Island and not at the Cornwall Arena where his son was supposed to be playing hockey., or at least that's where I thought he was. So it turns out that GOOGLE gave him my business to sew the A's on his jerseys, he and I had a good laugh, which I really needed and said good bye. See more
Finally, one done, what a job. Frankie had to help me put all the grommets on helped me to put it through the big sewing machine. This is an outside window for a new house solarium, that will be hung with the grommets by bolts. It"s 155 inches by 82 inches.
just want to show everyone the beast I have been working on, 155 " by 82", it barely fits my cutting table. It will be a window on a solarium. Once the grommets are all on , the owner will put screws into the walls and attach this to make a very large window. Plus there are more to make but not as big, thank goodness, so far I had my daughter over to help make it and my husband had to help me put it through the sewing machine. Think I might start keeping my projects to the size of my cutting table.
