VESTRY Thank you to everyone who took time to attend our ‘online vestry’ this year. As well as the business required we took time to give thanks for many things including the work of our wardens, the phone calls and Zoom meetings that keep us connected, our children’s ministry, our community dinner and the hard work of Nora organizing them, the children’s Christmas service, the work of the Association of Dundas Churches, weekly opportunities to sing along to our ‘With A Song...’ video, the replacement of the church floor, new flooring in the choir and children’s rooms, the establishment of our building committee, the work of our fundraising committee, the hundreds of winter coats collected so far, our Christmas families, the generous giving of so many people, the hard work of our staff. Narrow the scope and powers and impede their purposes to further the conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources in watersheds in Ontario and Remove their ability to appeal municipal planning decisions Change their role so they no longer must act to further their watershed-based mandates but rather only can act on behalf of the narrower interests of their respective municipalities Give new rights to developers to fast-track approvals and have the province overturn decisions they don’t like (citizens won’t get this right). Give the provincial government power to overturn a conservation authority’s decision to refuse to issue a permit for development.
