Today’s Question Of the Day: Why does the Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank not want my food donations? I saw on TV that Toronto has record food bank demand. Gre...at question the Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank has seen an increase in new clients over the past months as our community copes with Coronavirus and the economic changes that it's brought about. Fortunately not as much as places like Toronto. As you may have heard, the lease on one of our two warehouse units has not been renewed, so our storage space has been reduced by half. Imagine if half of your kitchen cupboards were not available! We are managing by keeping inventory low and shopping more frequently, targeted to our weekly needs. This is not only more efficient, it results in less food waste and ensures that we can offer our families more nutrition and balance. We shop locally and our dollar goes a long way with the support of local stores, farms and businesses. We love our caring Stouffville community. We appreciate and encourage your financial support wsfoodbank.ca/donate at this time.

TODAY'S SERVICE We rejoice in the greatness and goodness of God (see Psalm 33:1-5, 13-22). We look to Jesus as the example of how to live our very real lives in challenging times (see Matthew 6:25-34), and we learn from the members of the first congregations the kind of people as individuals and as a congregation we must be to make our contributions to the mission of God (see 1 Timothy 6:11-19).

"Your neighbour self-isolating with her abuser, too afraid and unable to call for help; your colleague’s young son struggling with anxiety and depression needing a comforting shoulder; a recently laid-off relative can’t pay the rent or buy food for his family."

CHRISTMAS GROCERY SHOPPING? A small box of Cheerios, granola bars or KD would help feed our neighbourhood. *Please, no bottles or cans. Until spring.
